Detailed Description:
The Production Supervisor directly supervises a team of employees within the production workgroup.  This position will oversee from 6 -12 production personnel on a Swing Shift (1:00pm – 9:00pm, M-F).  This work is performed in a CleanRoom - Class 10,000 (using simple smocks, head covers, and booties.).

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manages the performance, motivation and satisfaction of all the team and processes to ensure key quality, output and efficiency targets are met.
  • Sets daily tasks for team and assists when necessary.
  • Performs trouble shooting for electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Manages the training and skill development and growth of all staff to ensure multi skilled capability.
  • Management of controllable operating expenditure e.g. scrap, consumables.
  • Contributes to monthly forecasts and owns daily/weekly output and quality targets.


Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of the production process and the tools and equipment used in the process (hand tools, micrometers, test software, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers. Ability to interface with the customer on troubleshooting
  • Knowledge and understanding of the business unit and how decisions impact customer satisfaction, product quality, on-time delivery and the profitability of the unit.
  • Ability to coordinate a wide variety of resources to meet production quality and quantity metrics.
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees to achieve high production levels within tight time deadlines and in a highly dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to use some or all of the following PC applications: Word, Excel, Powerpoint.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Duties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.
  • Duties may require periodic sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Above demands are carried out within the local existing Health and Safety guidelines
     

Experience:

  • 4+ relevant experience in a production environment preferred, but will accept education in Engineering in lieu of experinece.
  • 2+ years supervisory experience preferred, or some leadership experience


Education:

Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
