Summary:  

 

This Director of Supply Chain Management is a senior level position, requiring management of suppliers and staff in North America and Asia. The incumbent provides direct and indirect supervision to reporting managers who perform highly specialized roles in areas of supplier development, materials sourcing, engineering and quality management, and develops and establishes objectives and strategic direction in support of the Celestica Semiconductor Equipment business segment.

 

This individual works directly with our Semicon business leadership to understand and provide input to the business strategy, and to ensure strategic sourcing strategy and plans are aligned to drive profitable growth for the segment.  This individual will also communicate with Semicon segment customers, ensuring customer needs, strategies and opportunities are addressed by Celestica, and ensuring we drive high levels of customer satisfaction in the areas of strategic souring and supply chain execution. Here, this individual will work closely with our SCM prime, who will provide support in the areas of supply chain process and systems design and deployment, flawless launch, global logistics and broader business execution, including working capital management.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

 

General management

  • Participation in the Advanced Technology Solutions (ATS) management team, bringing business plans and status, as well as innovation and thought leadership in the assigned areas of responsibility
  • Develops annual POR (Plan of Record) which includes setting strategic sourcing targets, inventory turns targets, as well as other key deliverables to be managed and tracked through the year. And cascading of these requirements to reporting staff.  
  • Develop/encourages operational and strategic development through stimulating creative thinking
  • Maintain involvement in day-to-day issues and activities
  • Periodic reviews of operational performance and development of contingencies
  • Periodic performance reporting to senior management (example: monthly operations reviews)
  • Working closely with Strategic Sourcing leaders for our other business segments to ensure plans and strategies are optimized both for Semicon Segment and Celestica as a whole. This includes sharing and transfer of best practices, driving higher levels of performance and efficiency.
  • Regular interaction and coaching of direct reports including managing employee performance development plans.

 

Business Controls

  • Ensures all business controls are met, including supplier on/off-boarding, supplier audit, compliance with all Quality Management documents (QMX) related to assigned areas of sourcing and supply chain
  • Support of all external audit processes, including customer audits
  • Performs periodic audit of internal processes

 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

 
  • Extensive knowledge of the Semiconductor Capital Equipment business segment
  • Senior level experience with supplier development and strategic sourcing
  • Experience working with customers, staff and suppliers globally, with focus on North America and
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of supply chain management, sourcing, distribution methods, and global transportation services and inventory management.
  • Core understanding of Celestica SCM Model, capability and processes.
  • Knowledge of customer contracts, contractual obligations as they relate to supply chain requirements and liabilities, and experience managing business to these contract terms.
  • Has commercial and business expertise (P&L Management and Strategy Development).
  • Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma
  • Ability to understand the complete supply chain and resolve issues in any area. 
  • Good understanding of IT concepts and integrated business applications. 
  • Strong knowledge in all areas of import / export, regulatory and logistics management 
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills 
  • Able to resolve complex issues & problems internally and externally 
  • Significant skills required in multi-tasking and time management
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of managers and employees.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to maintain external contacts with consultants, association and other companies for benchmarking and networking.
  • Able to work effectively cross-functionally and with other sites to achieve objectives.
  • Frequent travel is required upt to 25%

 

Experience:

  • 15-20 years in SCM discipline
  • Industry experience in Semiconductor required.

 

Education

  • Graduate degree preferred or Bachelor’s degree in related field (Business or Engineering)
