Work requires application of in-depth knowledge of professional standards and precedents in area of specialty. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. May lead a multi-functional work group or project team consisting of one or more support staff and/or tech/professional staff, or may provide advice and guidance in area of specialty. May determine new methods and procedures. Seeks out new avenues for building internal and external relationships; maintains contacts with existing relationships. Interfaces with senior managers on issues related to the area of expertise. Interacts with and influences management and/or customers on significant issues.

 

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

Acts as the primary technical contact with the customer or partner. Draws on thorough knowledge of systems architecture and technological capabilities to identify root cause and proposes solutions. Coordinates with the design team to create the solution and ensures the solution resolves customer reported issues. May also work on solutions individually. Manages the relationship with the vendor for features, support escalations and future product direction. 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
(may include 1 or more of the following)

  • Hands-on software development experience ranging from 3-10 years preferred
  • Strong knowledge of any of the following: ONIE, BIOS, BMC, SES, Linux Kernel, SONiC, Networking protocols
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages – C, Python
  • Good understanding of hardware and software architecture and concepts related to Networking products especially Switches or Storage products such as JBOD/JBOF/EBOF
  • Ability to evaluate, diagnose and troubleshoot complex field issues
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several projects and coordinate multiple, changing deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to interface with customers on a regular basis
  • Excellent project management, presentation skills
  • Ability to converse in Mandarin is a plus

 

 

Typical Education:    

  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. Graduate degree desired.

 

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel may be required (up to 10% travel).
