Celestica's global strategic sourcing and quality management team drives supplier development, sourcing and supplier performance programs in support of our market segments and operations worldwide. The quality management team has overall global ownership of supplier quality performance, drives ongoing supplier quality improvement programs, executes First Article approvals (FAIRs), and works directly with the quality management personnel at each Aerospace & Defense (A&D) site to understand quality performance measures and adherence to supplier quality management processes.


This is a remote position based in the Phoenix, Arizona area. 


Position Summary:


We are currently seeking a Global Supplier Quality Leader with a solid track record of supplier quality management and driving continuous supplier quality improvement, as well as management of the first article approval (FAIRs) process for our Aerospace and Defense (A&D) line of business.


The global supplier quality leader will work with A&D sites and suppliers to drive ongoing reduction in materials DPPM rates, compliance to Celestica and customer specifications and timely execution of first article approvals.


The successful candidate will have significant experience in supplier quality management within the Aerospace and Defense market segment. Global supplier quality and FAIRs personnel will report directly to this leader, and site supplier quality leaders will work with, and take functional direction from this leader.



Detailed Description:


This individual will focus on supplier delivered product quality improvement and overall supplier quality compliance, and will ensure quality processes and methods are aligned to drive ongoing quality improvement as measured against Celestica and individual customer requirements.


Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:


Quality Management Responsibilities

  • Work with site and CFT (Customer focused teams) quality personnel to understand DPPM performance levels and other quality performance measures
  • Ownership to drive supplier quality improvement actions for top pareto and top DPPM impact suppliers
  • Work with strategic sourcing staff to ensure new supplier development plans address materials quality requirements
  • Execution of first article approvals in compliance with Celestica and customer-specified standards or requirements
  • Drive supplier quality management process collaboration, and consistent supplier quality management process execution across Celestica A&D sites globally
  • Overall ownership of supplier quality performance and first article (FAIRs) processes and ongoing supplier quality (DDPM) improvement
  • Achievement of supplier quality objectives globally


Business Controls

  • Ensuring compliance with all quality management requirements and documents related to assigned areas of responsibility
  • Engagement in supplier audit processes as required to drive compliance requirements
  • Performs periodic audits of internal quality management processes
  • Other duties as assigned by the A&D strategic sourcing leader




  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of supplier quality management and continuous improvement
  • Extensive knowledge of the Aerospace and Defense business segment
  • Knowledge of customer contracts, contractual obligations as they relate to supplier quality, and experience managing to these contract terms
  • Significant experience with implementing and driving supplier quality improvement plans
  • Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Biased toward action to drive ongoing quality improvements
  • Track record of supplier quality improvement, and a working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Able to work effectively cross-functionally and across site globally sites to define and achieve quality improvement objectives
  • Frequent travel is required up to 25%



  • 10-15 years in SCM discipline with a focus in supplier quality management 
  • Significant experience in Aerospace and Defense suppler quality management
  • Demonstrated results in defect rate reduction (DPPM) and the use of quality improvement methods




  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Business or Engineering)
  • Graduate degree preferred
