The Finance Director position will be responsible for all internal and external financial reporting of actual results, including reporting to shareholders and parent company. Also, the incumbent of this role will be directly responsible for supporting the GCBU VPs in managing commercial aspects of their respective markets. Work requires investigating and resolving a wide variety of highly unusual conditions that carry long-term implications.


Detailed Description:   

  • Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area through several department managers and regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers.
  • Accountable for projects or programs on a multi-national or global basis.
  • Has overall P&L responsibility for global business units they support.
  • Requires developing new strategies, policies, practices, methods, programs or techniques (in collaboration with other senior managers) and utilizing them to analyze and interpret difficult problems or situations and/or establishing new strategic direction that is site or multi-site specific.
  • May represent the organization in public speaking venues and/or community events.
  • Preparation and review of consolidated financial statements for external reporting and internal reporting purposes.
  • Provides external supplemental information for the Board of Directors, analysts, bank covenants and financial press release.
  • Manages the external audit process.


The Commercial Finance Business Partner aspect of the role will be directly responsible for supporting the GCBU VPs in managing commercial aspects of their respective markets.  Key responsibilities of this role will include support of the markets from an account perspective as it relates to: 

  • Customer account profitability - Review monthly customer accounts, investigate/understand of variances and prepare timely consolidated commentary to explain key variances against budget and forecast to management through the L3 reporting tool.
  • Customer claims negotiation
  • Supports M&A activity
  • Opportunity Qualification - Business partner with commercial teams to provide pro-active, value-added financial support in the qualification of opportunities, reviewing the costs, benefits and risks of proceeding with the opportunity, and supporting the team with coming up with a winning sales strategy to enable deal and product profitability.
  • Pricing & deal approval - Responsible for the deal profitability analysis for sales opportunities to ensure alignment with corporate policies and procedures, including risk assessment, margin analysis, pricing analysis and market benchmarking in co-operation with market intelligence and commercial performance management. Throughout the sales process, the commercial manager will own the commercial solution and deal P&L and ensure it’s aligned with the budget, business plan and forecast, as applicable.
  • Support the commercial sales team in negotiation of the deal with the customer. Responsible for the deal profitability in coordination with Finance & Product; responsible for ensuring the deal is in line with all business guidelines.
  • The Commercial Finance Business Partner will be responsible for obtaining all the necessary approvals per the corporate policies, where applicable this includes preparation of the deal approval pack and presentation of the deal to the senior management teams and sales and pricing committees.
  • Responsible for ensuring on time drafting of customer contracts and ensure key commercial terms and principles are reflected in the customer agreements in cooperation with the legal department; balancing the opportunity with adequate protection for CLS at all times. Ensuring pipeline data integrity, as input to the sales forecasting in cooperation with the CFTs and other key stakeholders.
  • Driving the Strategic Planning process and support of the AOP process
  • Supporting the implementation and delivery of the Sales and OMVA forecast at the customer/site level. This will include working with Sales on the delivery of the inputs to the revenue model and completion of the forecast in coordination with all key stakeholders.  Including the assessment of risk and opportunities to the total outlook of the segment.
  • Apply revenue recognition policies, provide timely input to Finance on revenue and cost of sales related accruals and assure prudent inputs to forecasts, budgets and business plans.
  • Works closely with the Credit & Collections team and other key stakeholders to monitor and manage credit risk, receivables and adequate financial security for commercial opportunities.
  • Support/co-lead the detailed reviews of all aspects of the segment annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for P&L,
  • Lead the preparation of and review 5-year segment financial plans, helping to develop strategies for Segment and profit growth
  • Communicate market drivers and assess impacts of such drivers to the segment.

  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees to achieve high performance levels within tight time deadlines in a highly dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Twelve plus years of applicable experience, including experience in the leadership of a major finance organization.



  • Bachelor’s degree, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Accounting background with a CA/CPA/CMA designation.
