TheTransitions Program Manager provides technical Engineering support for product transfers to domestic and global locations.  This is an independent contributor role. 


The position acts as the primary interface between the customer and Celestica for managing the technology transfer programs of machined components and castings used in assemblies of commercial and military aerospace products. It will work in alignment to Celestica’s Transition and New Product Introduction (NPI) Flawless Launch framework and Manufacturing Operating Systems (MOS).


Responsibilities include:

  • Managing continuous contact with the customer and focusing on the customer requirements and the interests of Celestica.
  • Assign and coordinate tasks related to the introduction of new processes/projects within both the origin and destination sites including generation of the transfer checklist, gap analysis master plan/scope, update report(s), project timeline(s) and action item lists. Following Celestica’s Phase Gate methodology.
  • Responsible for day-to-day activities for the approach, execution, resourcing, alignment and success of the identified projects related to the dual-sourcing strategy for machining and casting vendors.  This position will be partnering with Supply Chain management to provide the technical expertise for sourcing and certifying additional vendors.
  • Project management duties to include leading, tracking, follow-up, and monitoring key project activities to ensure alignment with expectations and agreed-upon timeline(s).
  • Provide technical Engineering support for product transfers to domestic and global locations.
  • Facilitate successful interface with customer technical/engineering teams.
  • Responsible for processing of change requests and review of quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage risk by advising the site management teams of the technical risks related to the technology transfers.
  • Work closely with the engineering teams to fully understand scope and requirements for technology transfer products.
  • Support customer in validation, qualification, and production efforts during the applicable transition phases including review and approval of process validation and qualification documents. 
  • Lead and participate in the Transition rhythms as part of Site performance evaluation for transitions execution, including reporting out to Transition Aerospace and Defense Director.



  • In-depth knowledge of the manufacturing process, schedules, scheduling requirements and Supply Chain Management.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Aerospace & Defense industry
  • In-depth knowledge of the Supply Chain sourcing process.
  • Ability to negotiate and problem solve.
  • Excellent communication skills facilitating the successful interface with customer technical/engineering teams.
  • Strong presentation and computer skills.



  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including 2 years minimum in a program management role.
  • Previous experience as a Technical Manager, product and process transfer.
  • Experience transitioning manufacturing of product to both domestic and international locations.
  • Aerospace industry experience



  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferably in Engineering, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent preferred.
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) a plus.



  • Travel could be up to 50%.
  • This position is located in Tucson, AZ, not eligible for remote work.
  • Depending on future transition’s location, this position could be requested for reallocation to other projects.
