The Production Technical Operator will be performing assembly and testing, disassembly, analysis, repair and rework, reassembly and test of aircraft components in support of the Celestica FAA Repair Station. 


Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze, troubleshoot and rework aircraft components in accordance with established procedures, and provide recommendations on steps needed to return to service in accordance with FAA and other regulations.
  • Performs manual assembly / disassembly, operation of automated assembly equipment, hand soldering, operation of automated and manual test equipment, and inspection and repair of products.
  • Perform machine and line setups, feeder repairs and first line preventative maintenance.



  • Ability to set up, operate, calibrate and maintain equipment and tools.
  • Excellent manual dexterity for mechanical and/or electronics assembly and test.
  • Ability to recognize problems in the assembly process or with assembly components and to address those problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and lead the team to high-quality production within tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of functional test fixturing.
  • Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in some or all of the following applications: MS Office, ERP system (SAP preferred), and others as required.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Ability to proficiently read, write, and understand the English language.



  • 2-3 years relevant experience required
  • A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) license preferred
  • Military aviation mechanic experience preferred



High school diploma and additional courses after high school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Physical Demands:        

  • Duties of the position require periodic light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motions requiring manual dexterity and precise hand/eye coordination, sitting and or standing in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, and moving and handling materials.
  • Duties may require periodic heavy manual effort including lifting objects over 35 pounds.
  • Above demands are carried out within the local existing Health and Safety guidelines.


All applicants for placement in DOT/FAA safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test, testing for Amphetamines, Cocaine, Marijuana, Opiates and Phencyclidine (PCP). The DOT/FAA regulations require all employees, regular and temporary, in safety-sensitive positions, to be included in the Celestica FAA Drug and Alcohol Misuse / Prevention Program.
