Area/Department: Design and Engineering Services (D&ES)

The Design and Engineering Services department in Celestica Valencia is specialized in the development of new products and electronic systems for both its customers (mostly international) and the production line within the factory.

The D&ES team is composed by more than 20 specialist engineers: electronics, software, mechanics… that, in the end, build a multiskilled team able to carry on (almost) any kind of development projects.

The areas in which these projects are developed are mainly related with healthcare and in-vitro diagnosis, industrial, aerospace and test development.

Job Description

As a part of a test development team and, in its role of software developer, the designer will take responsibility for software development for different electronics diagnostics systems. Verification of functionality and design of experiments will be also part of the position.

As an essential part of a test development team, the engineer will take responsibility for the software design conception and routine automation of different electronics test and measurement systems, both in laboratory and production line.

Tasks to be performed will be related to high level applications development for different target platforms/architectures, measurement automation, design of experiments, and performance verification.

The designer will also participate in the building of the needed prototypes for design verification and the development of the needed software and documental routines making use of the adequate laboratory instruments and equipment.

She/He will participate as one of the components of the development team, contributing with her/his point of view and proposing solutions and alternatives aimed to overcome the different challenge that a development project present.

 

Needed skills

  • Basic Knowledge on electronic circuit design and analysis. Ability to read electrical diagrams both digital and analog.
  • Extensive knowledge on the use of regular laboratory instrumentation such as multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc…
  • NI Labview programming skills for measurement automation. NI TestStand knowledge is an asset.
  • Extensive Programming knowledge on common languages such as Python, C++, C#...
  • Knowledge on firmware and/or embedded software development
  • Fluent in English, both written and oral.

                Others:

  • Familiar with the use of do-it-yourself platforms: Arduino, Raspberry, Beaglebone…
