Detailed Description

Provides process technical support for all functions in clean and screen including visual inspections, functional test, cosmetic refurbish, repair, and receiving/shipping of product. Specific tasks include creation and maintenance of work instructions, PFMEAs, operational risk assessments, operation/function time studies (feeding both financial and capacity models), 5S, and systems maintenance for bill of materials (BOMs) and process flow routings. Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Provides complex technical support for printed circuit boards, subassemblies, production equipment or other related company products.
  • Sets up, and performs new, unusual, or involved tests, procedures, experiments, simulations, or changes.
  • Reads and analyzes schematic diagrams, circuit descriptions and similar technical information.
  • Sets up, operates, and adjusts test sets and auxiliary equipment.
  • Proves tests and test sets.
  • Assists in the designs for, and performs the debug of test fixtures, test cables and other test equipment.
  • Designs and lays out circuitry for test fixtures to interface products to bench testing and specialized automated test equipment.
  • Updates test bed software.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Must possess specific certifications as defined by site operations.
  • General knowledge of product process flows.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional team environment(Engineering, Quality, and Operations) including customer interface/communication.
  • Knowledge of product quality requirements and quality improvement processes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing information systems (Spectrum Pro, SAP) preferred.
  • Ability to recognize problems in a process and propose solutions to address those problems.
  • Ability to learn established quality and quantity requirements 
  • Ability to analyze job functions/activities and make appropriate adjustments to optimize the function while meeting quality and safety objectives.
  • Knowledge of personal computers and ability to learn and use applications specific to this area 
  • Ability to maintain detailed, accurate and organized records.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of internal and possibly external customers.
  • Basic manufacturing system knowledge.    
  • Strong knowledge of the setup and operation of specific equipment sets used in manufacturing processes.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Practical/Demonstrated experience with process documentation, Time Studies, 5S, and training
  • Working knowledge (Intermediate skill level) of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional to frequent exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.
  • Duties of the position require periodic light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motions requiring manual dexterity and precise hand/eye coordination, sitting in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, and moving and handling materials. 
  • Duties may require periodic heavy manual effort including lifting objects.
  • Duties require extended periods of sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies.
  • Above demands are carried out within the Company and statutory Health and Safety guidelines.    

Typical Experience

  • Three to five years of experience preferred

Typical Education

  • High school diploma and Associate's Degree/certificate preferred.
