Summary

The Lead Engineer, Manufacturing Process is responsible for designing, developing, deploying and optimizing processes for manufacturing to achieve quality cost and delivery goals for Celestica and its customers products.

Detailed Description

 May influence others outside of team to ensure goals are met and resolves conflicts in an
effective manner.
 Collaborates with senior engineers to design cost-effective manufacturing layouts and
building ergonomics for new product lines. Designs, redesigns, or enhances work areas
and layouts.
 Create, control and monitor capacity models that involve floor space, machine and
people availabilities and standards.
 Besides industry-specific knowledge, Design material flow (PFEP) considering of Material
consumptions and associated process cycle times.
 Develops and maintains management information, planning, and control systems.
Implements methods and modifications to reduce production costs.
 Understanding of site facilities, capabilities and how they tie back to the Celestica
strategies and direction.
 Gather and/or develop data for quotes.
 Work together automation department to create projects the automation the equipment.
 Coach, mentor and train engineers within the Industrial Engineering team.
 Lead the time and movement analysis in manufacturing areas to optimization the HC
 Generate projects that improve output of pieces per hour.
 Support to reduce production downtime due to missing machinery, tools or devices.
 Optimization of the Manufacturing System Footprint optimization projects to improve the
use of the productive area in all building.
 Keep the Layout of the plant in AutoCAD updated.
 Support in analyzing the feasibility of implementing new products, labor and production
rate
 Generate the report the Footprint usage by Customer and CFT.
 Collaborate with cross-functional team to execute optimization projects as operations,
Engineering, Cl, Maintenance and Quality

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

 Proficient with AutoCAD computer-aided design and drafting software application.
 Advanced English
 Able to analyze MFG process Data including material sizing and assess their risk and
impact to manufacturing space and material storage.
 Proficient with Microsoft Office / Google suite or related software, particularly spreadsheets
and data management.
 Knowledge of tools and techniques such as Flow Manufacturing, Pull Production Systems,
CI & Kaizen methodology.
 Understanding of factory sizing, facilities requirements and footprint optimizations.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. 
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Typical Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of related experienc;Experience in similar job roles

Typical Education

Bachelor’s degree in related field (Industrial Engineering / Mechanical Engineering), or
consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
