Summary
Work requires application of in-depth knowledge of professional standards and precedents in area of specialty. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires and in-depth evaluation of various factors. Incumbents are accountable for quality of work delivered by external suppliers as applicable. Incumbents have decision-making authority and autonomy to deliver on goals of team. Influences others outside of team to ensure goals are met and resolves conflicts in an effective manner. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in additional costs and serious delays in overall schedules of a site and/or regional function. May lead a multi-functional work group or project team consisting of one or more support staff and/or tech/professional staff, or may provide advice and guidance in area of specialty. May determine new methods and procedures. Seeks out new avenues for building internal and external relationships; maintains contacts with existing relationships. Interfaces with senior managers on issues related to the area of expertise. Interacts with and influences management and/or customers on significant issues.
Expertise in liquid cooling technologies, specifically cold plate and manifold
-Strong background in manufacturing process quality control, with a focus on liquid cooling components
-Proven experience in process optimization for liquid cooling manufacturing
-Skill in technical troubleshooting and problem solving within liquid cooling systems
-Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to liquid cooling design and manufacturing
-Experience in optical module (OSFP) liquid cooling design or manufacturing is an added advantage
-Experience in Vapor chamber heat sink, Fan design and manufacturing is an added advantage
Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Directs activities to support all manufacturing operations equipment availability (uptime), preventative maintenance of equipment, scheduling of technician training, project planning and implementation, scheduling of equipment installation, purchasing of spare parts and supplies for area related needs.
- Supports and manages customer test process sustaining effort including incorporation of engineering changes and identifying yield improvements efforts.
- Manages activities pertaining to new product test development and implementation into manufacturing.
- May manage a group of engineers with the responsibility for the completion of multiple related projects encompassing several different areas (i.e. Quality, Manufacturing, Supplier, etc.).
- Tracks the execution of the projects under development.
- Assists upper management and business development teams by providing technical input and direction to assist in meeting the project goals or customer requirements.
- Ensures that any customer or manufacturing issues related to existing products are addressed with high priority.
- Conduct engineering analysis and/or testing of products to validate that products meet customer requirements.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Technical Liaison: Serve as the main technical link between Celestica Factory operations (IQC, Production, Quality) and Global Commodity Engineering.
- Real-time Support: Provide disposition and failure analysis (FA) for non-conforming thermal components.
- Assembly Issue Resolution: Collaborate with CTH Manufacturing/Testing Engineering on assembly issues related to liquid cooling integration and thermal module installation.
- On-site Support: Offer engineering support at liquid cooling/heat sink/Fan suppliers in Thailand and South Asia.
- Design & DFM: Lead liquid cooling design reviews, support cold plate/manifold evaluation, and provide DFM feedback for manufacturability, robustness, and efficiency.
- Process Optimization: Assess and optimize key processes (brazing, welding, cleaning, leak testing); develop process parameters, quality control, and risk mitigation plans.
- Documentation: Create and review process flow documents (PMP, FMEAs, testing standards, inspection criteria) for NPI and mass production readiness.
- NPI/MP Oversight: Oversee NPI and mass production builds with thermal suppliers in Thailand/South Asia, including material, line/tooling setup, trial runs, and ramp-up.
- Quality Troubleshooting: Lead troubleshooting for thermal components quality issues, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Audits: Conduct process and quality system audits to ensure suppliers meet Celestica thermal component standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive yield improvement, DPPM reduction, cost down, and process capability enhancements across Thailand and Southeast Asia thermal suppliers.
Physical Demands
- Duties of the position are performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

- Eight plus years of experience
