Summary:

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible to manage the process and staff to ensure timely and accurate sourcing, purchase, movement, and control of inventory.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manages sourcing activities and competitive bidding environments for developing strategic supply chain sourcing strategies, defining supply contingency plans, and ensuring cost reductions and improved material-related product margins.
  • RFI, RFQ, and RFI activities to ensure continuity of supply and cost effective solutions.
  • Ensures the continual obtainment of cost reductions and cost savings from suppliers.
  • Establishing appropriate supplier sourcing strategies and work with the procurement team to execute tactical plans against that sourcing strategy.
  • Maintain and report on supplier performance metrics.
  • Maintains responsibility for performance management, development, recognition, coaching and compensation of employees.
  • Reassigns personnel as necessary to optimize work.
  • Acts as a liaison with customers to ensure forecast commitments are met.
  • Maintains continuous material supply, including pricing, on-time delivery, tracking excess and obsolete inventory, maintaining appropriate inventory levels and turns.
  • Reviews production schedules and changes to define the material requirements. Addresses and resolves possible material shortages.
  • Works with other departments to review and dispose of non-conforming materials.
  • Acts as a liaison between customer project management and internal departments on the introduction of new product requirements.
  • Ensures bill of materials, pricing structure, supplier base, etc., is cost effective.
  • Recognizes cost impact of excess and obsolescence and actively seeks return on investment.
  • Monitors customer repairs and validates type of warranty and associated costs.
  • Works with other departments to meet repair commitments.
  • Negotiates costing and services with suppliers to obtain lowest possible Total Cost of Ownership (“TCO”).
  • Manages 3PL for effective and flawless execution of material receipts, storage, cycle counts, and shipments.
  • Commodity management activities including market landscape assessments, industry trends, and escalation management support for tactical procurement support.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:          

  • Broad knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, materials and processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of sourcing, commodity management, procurement processes, inventory management and supplier management.
  • Good understanding of IT concepts and integrated business applications
  • Excellent negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees.
  • Occasional international travel is required.
  • Flexible work schedule to liaison with international time zones.
  • Experience in Capital Equipment manufacturing for semiconductor or equivalent industries is preferred.
  • Ability for reading CAD files to determine mechanical sourcing decisions.

Experience:      

Five to seven years of relevant experience.

Education:        

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Advanced experience in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

SAP or similar ERP experience.
