Your next challenge will be…

To lead a team of professionals in managing customer interface and engineering projects encompassing product development, production, and performance optimization within the Medical Device segment. You will also report to the Site General Manager.

Your day- to-day activities will include…

General

  • Oversees all engineering related activities for medical device automated production environment.
  • Manages the primary interface with Customers in supporting Product performance and the evolution of Product development.
  • Manages a team of professionals providing expertise in engineering operations to support a fully automated Medical Device business unit.

New Business and NPI
•    Leads development of new business opportunities with current and potential Customers.
•    Holds accountability for the overall NPI process and ensures smooth transition from prototype to production.
•    Tracks the execution of the projects under development including technical issues, project budgets, and business issues.

Performance
•    Leads engineering analysis of under-performing production units or sub- assemblies. Develops solutions based upon existing knowledge, and leveraging industry and other sites capabilities.
•    Evaluates results of manufacturing, test, and quality assurance processes for product.
•    Ensures accurate and timely communication to management on critical technical and business issues.
•    Collaborates with internal operations teams and development partners to recommend and implement changes to product or process to reduce defects, improve quality, and lower costs.
•    Leads and provides guidance to extended Process and systems engineering team. 

Continuous Improvement
•    Holds responsibility for continuous improvement strategies within the Engineering department; this includes Engineering systems and Engineering standards to ensure the both project delivery and project design are continually improving.

Leadership
•    Manages internal and external resource levels to ensure project delivery capability in the most effective manner.
•    Responsible for employee training, performance, measurement, development, motivation and recognition within the Engineering Team.
•    Initiates the research and evaluation of new technology and processes.

What do we expect from you?

•   5-10 years’ experience in a Senior Engineering role, with 3-5 years at management level.

•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
•    Multinational manufacturing environment experience. 
•    Proficiency in high-volume, automated manufacturing processes.
•    Experience in medical device manufacturing processes, New Product Introduction, and Continuous Improvement.
•    Project Management experience and associated qualification.
•    Strong motivational, interpersonal, and customer management skills.
•    Knowledge of customer and FDA regulatory requirements aligned with business needs.

  • Effective communication abilities with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, coach and motivate a diverse group of technical personnel in a highly automated and regulated environment.
