Summary

Celestica Galway (Ireland) offers a thrilling opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. Work within a team of Engineers to provide support to a highly technical production assembly line incorporating a variety of physical, optical and wireless functional test stations in a medical device environment. The role is varied and requires a broad range of experience in hardware and software engineering, experience of the full product life cycle, collaborating with the customer test and automation development teams, diagnosing product and equipment issues in a high volume production environment.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Commissioning, Maintenance and support of high-volume test equipment and test programs for the functional test of BLE medical devices
  • Develop and support offline test methods to support the rapid diagnosis of failed products allowing for test process optimization, with a focus on productivity improvements to cycle time and yield.
  • Supporting reliability testing of new products. 
  • Conducting statistical and trend analysis of test results to guide process improvement.
  • Maintenance of existing legacy software, test fixtures and test equipment (fault finding to component level). 
  • Responsible for the validation and ongoing calibration and conformance of all test hardware & software
  • Collaborate with Quality, Process and Equipment engineers to detect and solve product and test yield and performance issues               
  • Develop improvement roadmaps for test coverage, diagnosability, reparability, test time reductions and OEE
  • Recommend solutions to technical issues and participate in architecting solutions
  • Serve as a resource in the full development cycle, end-to-end, from conception, design, implementation and testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance 
  • Build alliances with business owners, product owners, developers, and operations

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Read and understand circuit schematics and diagrams
  • An understanding of RF and micro-wave circuitry and design principles
  • Experience in performing RF accredited testing on various wireless technologies, such as WLAN 802.11, Bluetooth, Zigbee, etc
  • Strong experience in a test development environment eg MatLab/Labview etc
  • Programming experience in C, C++, Python, or comparable languages
  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment, such as Spectrum/network Analyser, Signal generator, RF Power meter, cellular test set etc. and their application in a high-volume electronics manufacturing environment
  • Experience debugging PCBs to component level
  • Skilled at driving cross-functional decision-making and collaborating with various test teams (upstream/downstream) to develop a comprehensive end-to-end product testing strategy
  • Strong testing background expected with experience writing test plans and test procedures and strong understanding of Testing best practices (ISTQB certification)

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. 
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Typical Experience

  • 5 years+ in a Test Development or Manufacturing Test role is desirable.
  • Experience of performance testing and an understanding of this area.
  • 5 or more years of experience working in a product-based electronics manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Experience with Data analysis tools, SQL, Data Models, UML
  • Detailed understanding of web technologies

Typical Education

  • Electrical Engineering Degree or similar
  • Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
