Summary

As an Associate IT Infrastructure, you will be participating with the IT Infrastructure team to provide necessary IT services to internal customers. You will work closely with senior engineers to learn and contribute to various infrastructure projects, ensuring the smooth operation and security of our server and network systems.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems including network appliances
  • Provide first-level technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Monitor system performance and identify potential issues, compile reports and escalate to senior engineers as needed.
  • Assist in the implementation of security measures to protect the company's data and systems.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Participate in infrastructure projects.
  • Learn and apply best practices for IT infrastructure management.
  • Assist in the management of user accounts and access permissions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of IT hardware and software.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Explore new solutions, enhancements and opportunities for continuous improvement, projects and more
  • Perform the acquisition, provisioning and decommissioning of related equipment, software and services

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
  • Basic knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow in the field of IT infrastructure.
  • Proactive and self-motivated attitude.
  • Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Certifications related to networking or operating systems is a plus.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Typical Experience

  • Entry level to 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role or industry.

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
