Summary

Incumbents are fully qualified to execute job/role accountabilities working independently on most aspects of the job. Work is performed within established professional standards and practices. Tasks are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required to complete recurring assignments independently and to determine the best methods to follow to complete assignments. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may have a negative impact on the divisions/departments operations, schedules, and/or performance goals. Works under general Supervision. Situations not covered by standard processes, procedures and methods are referred to manager or expert resource. May demonstrate work methods to new employees. Builds internal and external relationships, with emphasis on those that facilitate the achievement of job/role accountabilities, such as relationships with key suppliers, customers and internal service.

Detailed Description

• Manage and maintain the network lab infrastructure, including routers, switches, servers, and VxRail systems.
• Design, configure, and implement network solutions to support changing requirements of IT datacenter
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, performance bottlenecks, and other technical problems.
• Collaborate with engineers and IT team to understand their network requirements and provide appropriate support.
• Implement and maintain network security measures to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of lab data.
• Configure and maintain virtual machines (VMs) within the lab environment, including resource allocation, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Implement and maintain security patches on all lab equipment, ensuring systems are up-to-date and protected against vulnerabilities.
• Maintain a detailed inventory of all lab hardware and software, including licenses, warranties, and support information.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest networking technologies and trends, particularly in areas like virtualization and cloud computing.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Proven experience as a Network Administrator or similar role.
• Hands-on experience with VxRail systems, including installation, configuration, and management.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols.
• Hold an active CCNA certification or equivalent knowledge.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Demands

• Duties of the position are performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Typical Experience

• 4+ years relevant experience

Typical Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• More than 4 years of working experience, and hands-on experience in one or more areas of required skills section.
