Summary

We are seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Network Architect with 15 to 18 years of deep, progressive experience. This leadership role demands a certified expert capable of steering our global network strategy, designing highly resilient infrastructures, and serving as the top-tier authority for all complex network challenges. You will be responsible for defining the future state of our network and leading its implementation across the enterprise.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Collaborate with business, functional, solution and service partners to clearly understand current and future requirements
  • Use standard IT processes to create, communicate and ratify architecture plans and roadmaps that satisfy short and long term business requirements.
  • Leverage business, technical, and industry knowledge and expertise to recommend, select, and design optimal solutions for Celestica.
  • Apply influence and expertise to guide decisions, and drive team actions to deliver strategic solutions in accordance with plans and roadmaps.
  • Provide technical expertise and assistance to support existing solutions, and respond to incidents and problems when they occur.
  • Establish and contribute thought leadership to discussions that continuously improve IT solutions & services, and ultimately support Celestica's business operations.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Global Network Strategy: Lead the definition, planning, and execution of a robust, scalable, and secure global network design and implementation strategy.
  • Architectural Expertise: Serve as the final authority on all network architecture decisions, leveraging a deep understanding of network protocols to ensure optimal performance and security across the entire infrastructure.
  • Technology Roadmapping: Evaluate emerging network technologies (e.g., SD-WAN, automation tools, cloud networking) and integrate them into the long-term network roadmap to drive business value.
  • Advanced Routing & Switching: Design and manage complex multi-protocol environments, demonstrating mastery of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRP, and high-density switching platforms from Cisco and Sonic.
  • Security Architecture: Architect and enforce enterprise-level security postures, requiring expert-level knowledge of Checkpoint Firewalls, deploying cutting-edge AirGap solutions, and ensuring compliance with global security standards.
  • Modern Networking: Drive the implementation and management of large-scale SD-WAN deployments, DMVPN, and traditional MPLS services, optimizing connectivity across global sites.
  • Application Delivery & Wireless: Oversee the configuration and operation of Network Load Balancers for high availability and performance, and manage enterprise-grade wireless networks using Cisco WiFi and Aruba Wifi.
  • Automation & Monitoring: Champion network operational excellence through Network Automation initiatives. Select, implement, and lead the utilization of advanced Monitoring solutions such as SolarWinds and Nagios to proactively manage, troubleshoot, and report on network health and performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Act as the ultimate escalation point, utilizing unparalleled troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to resolve the most intricate and critical network issues across all technologies.

Physical Demands

Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Typical Experience

  • 15 to 18 years of progressively responsible experience in network engineering, architecture, and design, preferably in a large-scale, global enterprise environment.
  • Architectural and hands on experience designing and deploying clearpass and Dot1x for wired and wireless network.

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
