Summary

The Senior manager will be responsible for leading and managing the team developing the firmware for Celestica’s or Celestica’s customer products, ensuring timely delivery and highest quality standards. The manager will be playing a key role in driving the software development processes (such as Agile, Scrum, etc.) and complying with the product life cycle development (phase/gate deliverables). The candidates with prior experience in firmware development, with strong leadership, excellent planning and communication skills are suitable for this position.

Detailed Description

Key Responsibilities:
           

Performs the below key tasks:

  • Lead a high-performance software team that works with multiple layers of firmware from the lowest level drivers to higher layers of specialized stacks for AI Compute products
  • Coach and mentor the team in understanding their strengths and weakness
  • Take the lead in project planning and scheduling.  
  • Take responsibility for non-technical elements of an engineering project (people, financials etc.).
  • Review and interpret customer requirements/specifications and may act as primary customer contact. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware design, other software teams, program and product management
  • Set yearly plans and goals for the team, give direction on expected performance, provide regular performance evaluations and ongoing feedback.
  • Accountable for all department objectives and achieving agreed targets for key performance indicators.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Work with the team to elevate technical skills and consistently apply best practices.
  • Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • LINUX Kernel/drivers, PCIe, BMC, BIOS/BSP
  • Networking Data path knowledge
  • CPU/GPU based compute server development/management exposure
  • AI workload/Orchestration

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. 
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

  • 18+ years

Typical Education

Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
