Summary
The Lead Engineer, Software develops, debugs, tests, deploys and supports code to be deployed in systems/products/equipment for various applications. They write, debug, maintain, and test software in various common languages and for software at various levels in the hierarchy (from Firmware to Application). Software creation follows an agreed to development process (such as Agile, Scrum, etc.) and complies with the product life cycle development (phase/gate deliverables).
The Lead Engineer, Software works in cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations.

Detailed Description
Perform tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Implementing, maintaining, and enhancing build pipelines for continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD). Maintaining infrastructure for CI / CD pipelines.
- Creating, managing and administering Virtual Machines (VMs). Troubleshooting and resolving VM issues in a time-sensitive manner.
- Automated infrastructure provisioning and configuration. Developing and maintaining scripts for system administration as well as various VM related tasks.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining security measures for VMs and infrastructure towards our security and compliance requirements.
- Explore opportunities for continuous improvement to improve operational quality and efficiency.
- Participate in creating and maintaining operating procedures, metrics reports and cost governance.
- Scripting for automated builds of Server, Virtual Desktop and workstation Images/environments.
- Working with Local Support and Global Endpoint Management to maintain and troubleshoot build/deployment code/images, including automated patch management (deployment, reporting, troubleshooting).
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Strong expertise in Python
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux administration skills
- Good understanding of Cloud Computing concepts.
- Good knowledge of scripting tools (examples include. Powershell, Python, BASH, Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
- Familiarity with Cloud Deployment Concepts such as the use of CI/CD Pipelines, service principals
- Previous Operational experience in Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud
- Previous experience with endpoint management concepts (such as deployment, imaging, packaging, patching, testing, support, etc.) would be a plus
- Good knowledge of Windows Active Directory and the Windows Operating system
- Good knowledge of Linux Operating Systems
- Previous experience with Virtual Desktops Management would be considered a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to manage workload effectively and efficiently and establish priorities.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize, escalate, and communicate issues.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance with attention to detail and follow-up.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation
Physical Demands
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
- Occasional travel may be required.

Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
