Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Storage Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our enterprise storage and SAN infrastructure. This critical role involves the administration and support of Dell (PowerStore, PowerVault, Data Domain) and IBM DS8k or equivalent storage arrays, alongside the management of Brocade/Cisco SAN fabrics.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Administer, configure, and support enterprise storage platforms (Dell PowerStore, Dell PowerVault, Dell Data Domain, IBM DS8k or equivalent).
  • Manage SAN fabrics (Brocade/Cisco) including zoning, firmware upgrades, and monitoring.
  • Perform routine storage provisioning, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
  • Implement data protection, replication, encryption, and retention policies.
  • Collaborate with Backup teams (Veeam, Data Domain integration) to ensure data availability and recovery.
  • Perform firmware and patch upgrades on storage arrays and switches.
  • Troubleshoot storage-related incidents and provide root cause analysis.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, inventory, and compliance reports.
  • Work with infrastructure teams to design storage solutions for new projects.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for storage operations.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Hands-on experience with Dell storage platforms (PowerStore, PowerVault, Data Domain) or equivalent (NetApp, HPE, IBM).
  • Good knowledge of SAN technologies (FC, iSCSI, zoning, multipathing).
  • Familiarity with storage monitoring and reporting tools.
  • Understanding of backup and recovery solutions (preferably Veeam with storage integration).
  • Experience with data protection, encryption, and compliance standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and cross-team collaboration abilities

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Typical Experience

  • 5 -6 years of experience in enterprise storage administration.

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
