Summary
As a Senior Executive (Material Planner), you will spearhead the end-to-end material readiness strategy to guarantee uninterrupted production. You will utilize Kinaxis and SAP to optimize inventory health, mitigate supply chain risks, and serve as the central point of contact between Engineering, Procurement, and Global Customers to achieve company revenue targets.
Detailed Description
Material Planning & Risk Mitigation
- Clear-to-Build (CTB) Ownership: Lead the weekly CTB process via Kinaxis RapidResponse, ensuring full visibility into a 13-week rolling demand across all Planned and Work Orders.
- Scenario Modeling: Run advanced "What-If" CTB simulations to evaluate how unexpected, urgent orders impact manufacturing schedules and revenue.
- Procurement Oversight: Monitor the PR-to-PO conversion pipeline; proactively resolve bottlenecks tied to tight lead times, revision updates, and End-of-Life (EOL) parts.
Lifecycle & Inventory Optimization
- Engineering Change (EC) Management: Oversee EC implementations and calculate precise component depletion dates to minimize Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory risk.
- Structural Planning: Conduct quarterly reviews of lead time profiles and recommend optimal Safety Stock levels to balance high service levels with working capital efficiency.
- Inventory Programs: Enhance Supplier Managed Inventory (SMI), Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), and Just-in-Time (JIT) frameworks to boost inventory turns.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Customer Relations
- Demand & Production Alignment: Facilitate weekly forecast reviews with Planners and Program Managers to address demand volatility. Lead daily GYAT (Get Your Act Together) meetings with Warehouse, Planning, and Production teams to clear immediate material shortages.
- Customer Focal Point: Represent the supply chain team in weekly customer calls, managing consignment material audits, inventory cycle counts, and shipping priorities.
- Logistics Coordination: Partner with Logistics and Warehouse teams to expedite critical material movements, ensuring successful month-end revenue closure.
Data & Strategic Reporting
- Data Integrity: Maintain accurate master data by submitting Purchase Info Record (PIR) updates to Site Document Control.
- Strategic Sourcing Support: Build high-level Localization and Regionalization reports to drive strategic sourcing decisions.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
Education & Experience
- Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Experience: 6–8 years of proven experience in Material Planning or Inventory Control.
- Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and high-mix/low-volume (HMLV) manufacturing environments is highly advantageous.
Technical & Soft Skills
- Systems: Advanced, hands-on proficiency in SAP and Kinaxis RapidResponse.
- Data Analytics: Expert-level Excel capabilities (including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and Data Modeling).
- Competencies: Strong analytical skills, exceptional time management, and the ability to operate autonomously under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Language & Location Flexibility
- Languages: Full professional proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Fluency in Mandarin is required to effectively coordinate with regional vendors and stakeholders.
- Location: Based in Senai, Johor, with the flexibility to work overtime during peak production periods or month-end closing cycles.
