Summary

This job is a first-level manager within a site. Provides direct management to semi-skilled and entry level professional employees performing diverse and/or specialized roles, or employees in more than one function or work group. Provides direct and indirect supervision to subordinate team leaders and professional employees performing diverse roles. This includes working with site team members that may not report directly to this position. Accountable for dept results and for activities or projects involving multi-functional teams. Work requires application of in-depth knowledge of professional standards and precedents in area of specialty. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and sets goals to achieve objectives. Establishes and recommends changes to policies.  Builds cross-functional relationships where persuasive skills, negotiation skills, and considerable tact are required to gain support. Interacts directly with subordinates and peer groups; interfaces with senior managers on issues related to the area of expertise. Maintains positive relationships with key customers, suppliers, etc., who have a significant impact on the success of the organization.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Understand and participate in the development and deployment of Supply Chain and materials strategies.
  • Supports the Inventory Entitlement process.
  • Drive and supports Cross functional alignment with different groups of the SC organization (Purchasing, Commodity Management, Strategic SCMs, etc).
  • Analyze current processes and identify opportunities to improve Inventory position at sites and globally.
  • Collaborate with Operations Team to develop Inventory strategies that improve Celestica’s performance and service levels to meet the customer’s needs. 
  • Identifies Parameters Strategies to ensure correct data is in the system to drive the requirements as needed.
  • Identifies change in processes when required, communicate and collaborate with Entitlement Manager. 
  • Coach and mentor the Planning and Inventory staff to deliver excellence to every internal and external customer. 

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain management, Inventory Management and Planning areas.
  • Broad knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, materials and processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP System
  • Rapid Response Knowledge
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Knowledge
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Significant skills required in multi-tasking and time management
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize.
  • Ability to provide detailed analysis

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Typical Experience

  • Five to seven years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
