Summary

The Manger, Global Supply (GSM) is a cross-functional leader with a direct high-level link with suppliers and is responsible for supplier performance across their multiple sites, capacity planning, risk mitigation, and technology readiness across defined commodities or product categories. This role ensures end-to-end operational excellence by partnering with Commodity Management, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Engineering (GCE), and Operations teams to maintain resilient, scalable, and high-performing supplier ecosystems.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Serves as the primary operational and performance liaison between Celestica’s factories and global suppliers.
  • Leads supplier collaboration on forecast accuracy, capacity planning, and production readiness to align with demand signals and program ramps.
  • Uses analytics and predictive tools (e.g., Kinaxis Rapid Response, Power BI) to translate internal forecasts into actionable supplier capacity plans.
  • Collaborates with suppliers and internal stakeholders to manage long-lead items, buffer strategies, and build plans.
  • Proactive risk identification across suppliers supply chain -Tier 2 & 3 suppliers.
  • Maintains a proactive risk register for supplier capacity, quality, and geopolitical exposure.
  • Collaborate with SCM and Commodity Managers on multi-sourcing, dual-sourcing, and regional diversification to reduce dependency on critical nodes.
  • Drives business continuity planning (BCP) with suppliers and internal teams to respond quickly to disruptions.
  • Tracks recovery and escalation metrics through defined governance forums.
  • Partners with global manufacturing and NPI teams to ensure supplier and site capacity models align with customer demand and new product introduction (NPI) timelines.
  • Assesses supplier tooling, test equipment, and automation readiness to support forecasted volume growth.
  • Supports ramp-to-mass production transitions, verifying supplier capability and logistics readiness.
  • Leads capacity expansion initiatives, ensuring global alignment on tooling, test equipment, and automation roadmaps.
  • Regularly reassess supplier capacity to align with evolving market demands and product life cycle phases.
  • Communicates supply priorities through QBRs, daily calls, and cross-functional alignment sessions.
  • Leads corrective action planning with SQE/GCE and SCM for supplier quality and performance issues.
  • Drives process improvements in lead time reduction, delivery adherence, and yield improvement.
  • Partners with Engineering and Commodity Management to identify and qualify new technologies and manufacturing processes from suppliers.
  • Supports supplier readiness for next-generation products and emerging manufacturing trends (e.g., automation, sustainability, advanced materials).
  • Ensures supplier scalability for future programs by validating process capability and technology maturity.
  • Collaborates daily with Commodity Managers (GCMs), Supply Chain Managers (SCMs), Program Managers, and Operations to align on supplier performance, capacity, and readiness.
  • Provides visibility on supplier health, material flow, and risk to executive stakeholders.
  • Escalate issues with clear root-cause analysis and corrective actions, ensuring alignment across teams.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position require continuous light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motion, standing, sitting in a confined work space.
  • Occasional overnight travel is required.

Typical Experience

  • 15+ years of related experience in global supply chain management, supplier readiness, or manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated success in supplier performance management, capacity planning, and risk mitigation.
  • Experience in high-tech, EMS, or advanced manufacturing industries preferred.

Typical Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or Business; MBA preferred.
  • Proficiency with Kinaxis, SAP, E2Open, Power BI, and related data visualization tools.
