Detailed Description:
- Acts independently in most areas to ensure HR activities are aligned and integrated with regional or functional business objectives.
- Responsible to develop, evaluate and successfully implement long term HR business strategies to support a region or strategic business function. Actively participate in the development of key functional strategies.
- Identifies cross-functional linkage to corporate goals, develops strategies for enhancing communication, problem solving, teamwork and innovation across multiple functions or regions.
- Reviews and approve all staffing resources as required to achieve the business objectives for their region or strategic business function.
- High degree of judgment and independence required in developing solutions.
- Responsible for establishing new policies, practices, methods, programs or techniques and utilizing them to analyze and interpret difficult problems for a strategic business function or region.
- Complexity factors to consider include: # employees, # of sites, number of functional organizations supported, band level and number of executives supported, degree of employee representation, # of legislative jurisdictions and span of HR activities supported.
- Responsible for control of division budget, typically between 5 - 10 million dollars.
- Widely know internally as an expert in the HR field, coaching, mentoring, and influencing others. Maintains strong ties with key external contacts, monitor effectiveness of current relationships, represents organization externally. Recognized externally in their region as expert in their field
- Erroneous decisions will have a serious long term impact on the overall success of the company
- Directly responsible to lead global programs and projects that impact future programs and technologies in their region or strategic business function
- Lead regions or strategic functional areas that will impact overall company results.
- Has decision making authority and autonomy to deliver on goals of multiple functions. Typically decisions are subject to guidance and review by executive team.
- Influences others cross-functionally, in multiple regions and strategic functional areas to ensure functional goals met.
- Direct & Indirect Supervision to subordinate managers and employees performing highly specialized roles within several major functions
- Assigns objectives, reviews performance, coaches and approves employee compensation
- Responsible for staffing structure and spans or control.
- Communicates organization vision/business direction
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies: - General knowledge of global HR best practices, and specific knowledge of HR operations within a Global Service, Sales or Manufacturing company
- In-depth knowledge of government regulations, personnel and employment laws in multiple jurisdictions
- Ability to effectively organize and motivate a global team with a diverse group of skill sets.
- Strong organizational development, leadership development, facilitation, internal consulting and coaching skills
- Knowledge of financial & operations fundamentals
- External networking skills. The ability to network with external HR professionals from a wide range of private and public sectors.
- Knowledge of Customer Satisfaction initiatives.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal customers, including both internal and external senior leadership.
- Ability to evaluate multiple highly detailed tasks, determine priorities and organize work in a manner that allows for timely completion of projects.
- Ability to manage sensitive employee information in a confidential manner.
- Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in some or all of the following application
