Celestica has a great opportunity for a Category Management Advisor for IT category. Accountabilities:

  • Build strong partnerships with IT leaders (CIO/CTO organizations) to support their tech roadmaps. Jointly develop strategic sourcing strategies for SaaS, IT Hardware, Telecom, and Managed Services
  • Manage business value through the development of cost-effective supply relationships while pursuing total cost of ownership savings by leveraging purchasing volume, strategic supplier relationships and ensuring a healthy, solid supply chain
  • Direct, manage, and implement best practices in IT sourcing initiatives. Track sourcing projects for stakeholders, ensuring effective market assessments, complex RFP processes (e.g., cloud migrations, managed infrastructure), and supplier negotiation
  • Manage and track sourcing initiatives for stakeholders, ensuring effective strategy development, market assessments, RFP processes, contract and supplier negotiation and supplier management while enabling collaboration between stakeholders and suppliers
  • Proactively manage upcoming enterprise SaaS and telecom renewals to ensure right-sizing 
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvements and execute to realize the benefits targeted whether contractual terms, productivity, efficiency, etc.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • Deep understanding of the global technology market, including major SaaS providers (e.g., Google, Salesforce), Hardware OEMs (e.g., Dell, Cisco, HP), global Telecom carriers, and major MSPs 
  • Proven ability to effectively negotiate software licensing models (EULAs, enterprise agreements), hardware volume discounts, telecom rate cards, and complex Statements of Work (SOWs) for managed services.
  • Expert knowledge of best practices in IT sourcing, spend analytics, and vendor management methodologies.
  • Strong ability to work effectively across IT architecture, security, legal, and finance functions to achieve Celestica's goals
  • Evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Drive decisions by using clear, solid communication to socialize, influence, and persuade senior management, including C-suite members, with succinct and pertinent data

 

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Commerce or Administration), or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience (Procurement and/or purchasing designations an asset)
  • Direct sourcing and category management experience specifically across SaaS, IT Hardware, Telecom, and Managed Services is a must
  • Strong project management skills are a must.
  • Previous experience in IT contract drafting, reviewing legal terms alongside internal counsel (e.g., data privacy, indemnification in cloud contracts), and negotiating favorable commercial terms
  • Proven experience in leading large transformational projects is a strong asset.
  • Global experience, specifically with Asia, is beneficial.
  • 10 years of experience in procurement and strategy building roles and having managed large, complex and multi-functional projects is preferred 

 

Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
