Are you a seasoned Quality professional with a passion for the rigor and precision required in Aerospace and Defense manufacturing? Celestica is seeking an exceptional Quality Assurance Manager to lead and elevate our Quality Management System (QMS) at our high-priority facility.

This highly-visible role requires a leader who can manage a diverse team and ensure uncompromising quality across demanding, highly-regulated industries, particularly A&D. Detailed Description

As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will be the driving force behind the site's Quality objectives, focusing heavily on A&D-specific compliance and performance:

  • Team Leadership & Development: Provide direct and indirect supervision, mentorship, and training to a diverse team of quality professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and succession planning.
  • QMS Oversight & Compliance: Direct the coordination, education, and implementation of all elements of the site's Quality Management System, ensuring strict adherence to industry standards, including AS9100ISO 9001NADCAP, ISO 13485 and IPC specifications.
  • Performance Metrics & Improvement: Own the generation and analysis of critical performance metrics (e.g., DPQL,Scrap, FPY).
  • Lead medium-to-complex Quality Improvement Programs (QIPs) aligned with stringent A&D customer requirements.
  • Customer & Audit Management: Serve as a key point of contact for resolving complex customer quality issues. Champion effective and timely Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAPA). Coordinate and support all customer and 3rd party audits (e.g., AS9100 audits).
  • Manufacturing & Product Quality: Oversee the Quality lifecycle, including managing nonconforming materials, customer Return Material Authorizations (RMAs), and coordinating ESD compliance.
  • New Program Support: Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and customer qualification processes, including supplier assessments, First Article Inspections (FAI), and governing the generation of product documentation for medium-risk A&D programs.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • A&D Quality Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Quality metrics, ISO standards (especially AS9100), and the rigorous processes required for Aerospace and Defense manufacturing.
  • Advanced Quality Tools: Strong working knowledge and application of advanced Quality Management tools, including Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and the development of detailed Quality Control Plans.
  • Process Excellence: Proficiency in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), 5S, and Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
  • Leadership & Management: Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, manage, mentor, and motivate a diverse team in a highly dynamic manufacturing environment to meet tight production and quality deadlines.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills to coordinate diverse resources and execute complex improvement initiatives.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate effectively and confidently with a wide variety of internal stakeholders and external A&D customers.

Physical Demands

  • The job works in generally good conditions with occasional exposure (10% - 33%) to noise, odours, dust, drafts, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.

  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.

  • Occasional overnight travel is required.

Typical Experience

  • Typical Experience: 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in Quality Management, with significant exposure to the Aerospace, Defense, or similarly regulated/high-reliability industry.
  • Key Standards: Working knowledge of AS 9100, ISO 13485, NADCAP, and Mil Specs.
  • Typical Education: Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary Range and Benefits Summary

The salary range described in this posting is an estimate by the Company, and may change based on several factors, including by not limited to a change in the duties covered by the job posting, or the credentials, experience or geographic jurisdiction of the successful candidate. Salary Range: $125k-$167k Annually
