Summary
The Senior Staff Engineer, Electrical Design develops new electrical systems/circuits for various products. Researches system ideas and draw up plans for these systems, capturing them in specifications and detailed designs. Plan, simulate, test, validate and qualify their designs and make adjustments as needed. Provide support throughout the manufacturing of the electrical products they have designed. This engineer works in global cross-functional teams with customers, other designers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high-quality product development. The position is part of a global engineering services organization, with local leadership and integration with an expansive network of engineers. Activity will include direct onsite development and delivery, and support of project opportunities connected to the extended network of global sites.
Experience with the relevant product technologies and development processes in the Aerospace and Defense segment are an important asset. Celestica’s broad customer base will also provide opportunities to lead or support test development projects for customers in other end markets such as Industrial, Smart Energy, and Healthtech.
Detailed Description
This team member is part of a global design and development engineering organization, and they will interface regularly with other local and regional teams to deliver best-in-class engineering solutions.
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions in multiple domains. Participate in project planning and scheduling.
- Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers. Must be a recognized expert (go to person) in one or more technical areas
- Review, interpret and negotiate customer requirements/specifications and provide customer feedback
- Lead the deployment of strategic programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts.
- Proactively promote industry best practices
- May manage relationships with key vendors/partners.
- Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs. E.g. creation of Schematics, Bills of material, diagrams, drawings, etc.
- Testing, simulation and measuring (including troubleshooting) the performance of systems
- Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations
- Solve complex problems
- Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
- Analyze and interpret data and information
- Recommend modifications for systems
- Create reports and documentation
- May be a recognized expert (go to person) in one or more technical areas.
- Must effectively mentor junior level engineers.

Salary Expectation and Benefits Summary
The salary range described in this posting is an estimate by the Company, and may change based on several factors, including by not limited to a change in the duties covered by the job posting, or the credentials, experience or geographic jurisdiction of the successful candidate. Salary Range: $123,500-165,000 Annually
