Summary
Incumbents apply knowledge in a specific area of sustainability. Work is guided by general procedures and professional standards. Works on assignments of basic to medium scope and complexity, where analysis requires a review of identifiable factors and a considerable degree of judgment.
Situations not covered by standard processes, procedures and methods are referred to manager or expert resource. Work may be reviewed for application of sound judgment. May lead a work group or project team consisting of technical and support staff. Builds internal and external relationships, with emphasis on those that facilitate the achievement of job/role accountabilities, such as relationships with customers and internal teams.
Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

Working with multiple areas within Celestica’s organization to develop and monitor that appropriate goals are in place within Celestica and its global facilities

Analyze the sustainability practices of our supply chain organization and provide input to the development and obtaining targets for our long-term goals (eg, supplier emissions, packaging, recycled content)

Enhance waste reporting including working with internal audit team and operations to define requirements to accurately track and measure data
-
Drive Celestica’s sustainable water strategy, identifying targets, enhancing reporting

Conduct site waste and water audits

Lead EcoVadis assessment driving improvements and identifying additional areas for improvement

Support selected documentation/assessments such as Corporate Sustainability Report,

Corporate Knights, ISS, UN Global Compact

Supervise Water Questionnaires and support other team members working on submission

Work with internal sustainability representatives and external agencies
-
Provide support to Celestica’s site sustainability representatives assisting sites in developing and meeting targets for long term goals

Work with NGOs/Academia/Industry consortia on various supply chain and water initiatives

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

Knowledge of ISO and environmental management

Excellent skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

Good analytical and problem solving skills

Ability to work with a diverse set of partners, stakeholders, technologists, across the globe

Work in situations with modest ambiguity, bring passion to create solutions to problems or issues that arise

Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers.

Physical Demands

Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Typical Experience

Minimum of four to six years of applicable experience

Preference to candidates with environmental management experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
