Summary
Provides Compensation & Benefits (C&B) leadership and analytical support for Celestica’s Mexico operations to the Senior Manager of C&B for the Americas and local HR team.
Detailed Description
Provides overall leadership and support to the Senior Manager across the entire portfolio of HR Global programs and initiatives. Responsibilities include the following:
- Act as a primary contact for HR Managers for applicable compensation and benefits issues. This includes but is not limited to: procedural instruction, analytical counsel, advise and resolution for all matters across all applicable C&B programs.
- This role is part of an overall global C&B team that will participate in the Company’s annual compensation and benefits external benchmarking exercise. Provide detailed information including: position descriptions, compensation data, etc. to external vendors in a timely and accurate manner. Analyze and interpret results including market trends, changes, economic indicators, etc. Prepare recommendations for annual compensation planning for Senior Leadership decision making.
- Once regional and/or functional benchmarking data is compiled, this role will support the annual compensation planning process. There will be extensive interaction with regional HR Business Partners and regional C&B primes. Complete annual merit recommendations, manager planning merit grids, update country salary band ranges, etc.
- Provide recommendations on ad-hoc individual situations related to compensation analysis and recommendations for new hires, promotions, internal transfers, retention and special bonus awards.
- Provide analysis and support for Celestica’s short-term and long-term incentive plans as required.
- Provide ongoing support for various special projects and initiatives including: Career Frameworks, Merger & Acquisition activity and Performance Management & Compensation Planning Initiative.
- Partner and build relationships with key stakeholders in other teams including HR, Finance, Legal, Communications, Business Leaders and external vendors.
- Provide support to the local HR team on general HR matters as needed.
- Potentially be involved in completing audit requirements in conjunction with finance, external auditors, related to HR programs.
- Deal with urgent employee issues in a timely and professional manner.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Strong analytical, data modelling skills and experience. Ability to work with and synthesize large volumes of financial data with a very high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understand financial metrics, definitions, calculations and how certain metrics can be included in incentive plan design.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Able to present and communicate ideas and facts in a clear and articulate manner
- Able to effectively work with a wide variety of customers, cross-functional collaborations, as well as leveraging external vendors/partners.
- Working knowledge of HR compensation and benefits programs, policies and practices.
- Strong project management skills. Able to evaluate, manage and prioritize multiple highly complex and detailed tasks and projects at any given time.
- Ability to manage workload across various time zones including Americas, Europe and Asia, on occasion.
- Able to manage sensitive employee information in a confidential manner.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and local government regulations.
- Familiarity utilizing HRIS software, preferably SuccessFactors.
- Strong knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in some or all of the following applications: Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and Visio.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish.
Typical Experience:
- Six to eight years of relevant experience in an HR, Finance or related field.
Typical Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Finance or related field.
- Accounting Designation is preferred.
