Summary
The Senior Payroll Manager, Americas Payroll will own all aspects of payroll operations, ensuring the effective execution of payroll related services. You are a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of payroll and time and attendance processes, payroll regulations, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You’ll ideally have experience successfully working in payroll teams for the U.S. Canada and Mexico, with a focus on US payroll.
Detailed Description
In this role, you will:
∙ Provide payroll operational oversight of a team of approximately 10 payroll professionals and managers; coordinate workflows and manage task delegation to meet payroll deadlines to ensure timely and accurate payments for U.S., Canada and Mexico employees.
∙ Ensure payroll processes are in compliance with regulatory as well as internal control requirements; stay informed of various regulatory changes; conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with payroll policies and regulations.
∙ Manage payroll vendor relationships and contract renewals.
∙ Oversee the payroll system, ensuring data accuracy and system efficiency.
∙ Calculate and report tax liabilities and validate payroll tax reporting and related activities, including the annual issuance of year-end tax forms in these countries; manage payroll tax reporting processes.
∙ Be familiar with working in an outsourced payroll services environment with strong vendor management skills.
∙ Preparation of management reports.
∙ Point person for all payroll tax notices and payroll audits (both internal and external).
∙ Develop and lead a successful Americas Payroll Team, cultivating a high performing, professional and supportive environment.
∙ Build strong and collaborative relationships with Finance, HR, and Legal teams.
∙ Assist and consult on ad hoc projects.

Physical Demands
Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
Occasional overnight travel is required
Typical Experience
∙ 10+ years of experience in payroll operations for the U.S., Canada and Mexico (preferably with ADP processes and systems), with significant experience in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
∙ 3-5 years of management experience
∙ Strong understanding of American, Canadian and Mexican payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements with a focus on USA; certification in U.S. payroll is required with certifications in Canadian and Mexican payroll preferred
∙ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
∙ Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex payroll issues clearly and concisely.
∙ Ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced environment
∙ Strong attention to details ∙ High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Typical Education
∙ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or a related field. This role reports into the Director of Global Payroll Operations located in Toronto, Canada and will be managing a team in Monterrey, Mexico. This role is considered remote and you will be required to travel to Monterrey on an as needed basis.
