Detailed Description:

Reporting to the SCM Director, the SCM (Supply Chain) Manager manages Production Planning, SIOP, MPS, MRP in the Electronics Manufacturing Services in the CCS (Communications and Enterprise Computer) and NPI (New Product Introduction) segments, directs the efforts of the Production Planning within the Celestica manufacturing site, responsible for developing production plan & detailed scheduling to meet business objective in compliance with all regulatory requirements for Celestica’s policies, procedures and goals. This is an 18-month contract position located in the Celestica Newmarket site.

 

Develops and implement procedures and programs for the production planning, with the intention of maximize operating efficiencies, improve the processes flow, optimize sales, operations and inventory in the common pursuit of superior customer service to achieve site revenue & on time delivery goals, inventory target, ensure timely disposition of material and other supply chain objectives, as well as enhance clients’ satisfactions through service level improvement.

 

  1. Production Planning
  • Develop short-term production plan aligned with the capacity of the plant and establish the necessary strategies to meet customer demand and financial targets. Manages the development of delivery requirements, material plans and short-range capacity plans to meet production schedules and inventory objectives.
  • Manage and improve production scheduling process MPS (Master Production Schedule), MRP (Material Requirement Planning) and CAP (Capacity Planning) for the site and adjust schedules accordingly to ensure deliver site goals and objectives.
  • Ensure production operation plan is aligned with the capacity of the plant (medium and long term) and establish strategies needed to comply with the customer's needs and new products launches. Lead Rough Cut Capacity Requirement Planning; analyzes site capacity requirements, identifies mid-long term bottlenecks and discusses corrective action
  • Conduct SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning), demand & supply planning, production planning, scenario planning with various customer’s demand to recommend optimal production plan to minimize cost and maximum operations output to meet revenue target.
  • Prepare weekly & monthly revenue & on time delivery projection with SCM Director
  • Provide leadership and recommend scheduling adjustments to management supporting changing business needs or customer requests; resolves trade-offs, with top management if required
  • Lead site planning meetings, prioritize clients’ requirement, proactively address potential issues, and resolve roadblocks that may interrupt the production schedule to ensure achieving on time delivery target. Establishes Mid & long-term plans/objectives and recommends changes to policies.
  1. Planning Communication
    • Responsible for providing clear and concise direction and communication of planning priorities and production schedules to achieve site revenue and on time delivery goals
    • Collaborate with other business partners, such as Production, Engineering, Program Management, QA, etc. to ensure success in the execution of production plan and deliveries for all customers are satisfied.
    • Manage and share changes to the forecast, production plans changes requested by the customer
    • Participate meetings with Program Managers, Operations Managers and clients, reviewing clients’ requirements, forecasts, products launch plans, developing a robust productions plan to meet customers’ delivery target 
    • Leading Planning and Operations meetings and participating client supply meetings as required.
  2. Material Requirement Planning
    • Maintains responsibility for management of materials availability to support build plans throughout the product life cycle for a specific business unit or customer set.
    • Provides leadership in designing the supplier portion of the materials supply chain to provide optimum flexibility with minimum investment.
    • Manages the effort to identify and develop suppliers to meet current and future business needs. Leads efforts to reduce material cost and assess/respond to supply risks.
    • Responsible for supporting and driving inventory results for North America working with SCM Director, inventory manager, program managers and other site leaders.
  3. Customer & Cross-functional Engagement
    • Builds cross-functional relationships where persuasive skills, negotiation skills, and considerable tact are required to gain support.
    • Interacts regularly with management on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions and/or customers.
    • Responsible for customer interface from SCM including relationship management and as focal point for all SCM related issues. Maintains positive relationships with key customers, suppliers, etc., who have a significant impact on the success of the organization.
    • Accountable for projects or programs and NPIs, works to ensure Celestica is compliant with customs and regulatory laws.
  4. Planning System & Process Improvement
    • Review current SAP, Customer order report, production planning & scheduling tools to identify area of improvement, optimize the tools to enhance planning team’s productivity and efficiency
    • Develop and implement “Planning Playbook”, Standard Operation Procedures (SOP), working instructions; map business process for continuous improvement; develop staff training materials & programs in planning, master data and client services
    • Effectively manage master data for the planning parameters to ensure data integrity and accuracy, meeting compliance and audit objectives
  5. Team Management
    • Directly manages a group of SCM employees including employee training, performance, measurement, development, motivation and recognition.
    • Establishes the team & individual goals and manages resources to achieve this goals. Provides guidance, feedback and leadership to direct reports.
    • Participates in the recruitment, selection, promotion, termination, and performance management of its personnel.
    • Promotes an environment of employee involvement in the workplace.
  6. KPI Performance and Continues Improvement
    • Achieve KPIs targets, such as Revenue, On Time Delivery (OTR /OTTR), Past Due, Forecasting Accuracy, Customer Order Fill Rate, Inventory Turns, etc.
    • Develop and monitor team KPIs to achieve business & clients’ objectives. 
    • Using SAP and business intelligence tools (i.e. Power BI) to analyze data to prepare KPI metrics and management reports, conduct root cause analysis to drive lean Six Sigma & kaizen continuous process improvement.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Production Planning, SIOP, customer demand management, supply planning and inventory management experience in a large highly complexed make-to-order manufacturing environment, preferred EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services), aerospace, pharma, CPG industries desired
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of supply chain management, production planning, demand, supply and inventory management. Broad knowledge of an electronic manufacturing, materials and inventory processes and customer service management experiences.
  • Must have bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Engineering, MBA preferred. Must have APICS CPIM and/or CSCP certification; Lean Six Sigma, Project Management Certification is preferred.
  • Must have extensive SAP experience in Master Production Schedule (MPS), Rapid Response, Material Resources Planning (MRP) in manufacturing environment
  • Must have advanced Excel (Micro, VBA), Access, PowerPoint, MS Project, Power BI experiences
  • Exceptional analytical skills, negotiation and problem resolution skills. Experience with cost/benefit analysis. Knowledgeable in production scenario planning, statistics modeling, what-if scenario analysis is preferred.  Ability to influence and drive fact-based decision making.
  • Strong leadership, influencing, communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated strong manufacturing planning processes design, improvement and implementation skills; Good understanding of IT concepts and integrated business applications.
  • Ability to work in the team environment independently and with cross-functional team
  • Seasoned management skills in setting team objective, drive cross-functional collaboration, prudent risk-taking, self-awareness and adaptability, results and performance driven individual.
