Main objective of the position: The primary purpose of this role is to conceptualize, design, and develop mechanical systems, parts, and tooling for process automation using Creo 3D. The engineer will play a proactive role in building complex automated stations, continuously bringing fresh ideas to improve and optimize manufacturing and automation processes.
I. Job requirements:
- Education and qualifications:
- Higher education degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation, or a related technical field.
- Experience:
- 0-2 years of relevant experience (Entry-Level role); having 1-2 years of practical experience in mechanical design or automation constitutes a strong advantage.
- Prior exposure to Creo 3D (whether through internships, university projects, or personal portfolios) is highly valued.
- Skills / Aptitudes:
- Design 3D mechanical components, fixtures, jigs, and customized grippers (for robotic arms or pick-and-place systems) using Creo 3D software.
- Participate in the mechanical design and architecture of complex automated stations, assembly lines, and testing equipment.
- Create precise 2D technical drawings for manufacturing and maintain accurate technical documentation for all designed parts.
- Work closely with PLC programmers, electrical engineers, and technicians to ensure the mechanical designs seamlessly integrate with the electrical and software controls of the automated systems.
- Assist in the assembly, testing, validation, and debugging of mechanical prototypes and automated equipment on the shop floor.
II. Main tasks and responsibilities of the position:
Engineering Department:
- Proactively identify new opportunities for automation in the manufacturing process, constantly coming up with fresh ideas for improvement and process development.
- Design new mechanical equipment, fixtures, jigs, custom grippers, mechanical parts, and complex automated stations using Creo 3D software.
- Simulate, assemble, and test these mechanical components and automated stations to ensure they function according to structural and process requirements.
- Write reports presenting new mechanical concepts, prototype test results, and continuous efficiency improvements.
- Develop and optimize mechanical architectures and moving parts for new automated equipment in the manufacturing process, eagerly taking on new technical challenges without stepping back.
- Develop and maintain clear and precise technical documentation, including 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for mechanical equipment and automated processes.
- Troubleshoot mechanical processes or automated equipment hardware when physical errors, wear, or misalignments occur.
Factory support:
- Resolve day-to-day mechanical issues on the automation side, proactively finding practical solutions for broken fixtures, jigs, or mechanical jams on the shop floor.
- Participate by rotation in factory support calls, bringing a mechanical design perspective to troubleshoot equipment downtime and assist the maintenance teams.
- Implement necessary hardware and mechanical upgrades, which includes redesigning or reinforcing 3D printed parts, custom grippers, and structural components using Creo 3D to improve machine durability.
