Summary
As a Technical Product Manager, you will play a key role in driving the success of our Supply Chain Management (SCM) applications and lead the software development lifecycle, ensuring alignment between global business stakeholders (primarily in Canada and Asia) and technical execution teams. Operating within a complex, multi-technology ecosystem (.NET, Java ADF, Ivalua) that is currently undergoing a strategic modernization from Java ADF to .NET, you will combine strategic vision, Agile delivery principles and deep functional understanding to ensure successful solution delivery. In this role, you will manage projects and own the end-to-end delivery of technical solutions from initial concept to deployment, while mentoring a technical team.
Detailed Description
As a Technical Product Manager you will apply your advanced business analysis expertise within established professional standards and objectives to solve complex problems of diverse scope. In this role you will analyze multifaceted data and evaluate diverse system factors to drive high-impact solutions. You will take full accountability for the quality of project delivery including managing work delivered by external technology partners as applicable.
To ensure delivery success, you will actively influence cross-functional stakeholders outside your immediate team and resolve project-related conflicts in an effective and constructive manner. Recognizing that project decisions have a direct and long-term impact on major operational schedules and site performance goals, you will apply strong professional judgment to safeguard project timelines. While you will operate with a high degree of independence, receiving supervisor guidance primarily on highly unique, unusual or controversial challenges, you will also lead project teams and provide guidance, mentorship and coaching to technical staff. Finally, you will actively focus on building and maintaining productive internal and external professional relationships to support collaborative project execution.
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Drive the end-to-end software development lifecycle using Agile methodologies, prioritizing backlogs, clearing technical blockers and ensuring consistent delivery.
- Actively participate in the system rewrite from Java/Java ADF to .NET, helping to translate existing functionalities into new technical specifications and validating the end results.
- Support and communicate with stakeholders, including IT/Business Partners and cross-functional teams, to align solution strategy and translate business needs into clear technical specifications.
- Provide guidance on the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and act as the technical authority for data flows and system integrations, validating technical feasibility.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure software architecture aligns with long-term objectives.
- Balance a strategic, big-picture view of the product landscape with the ability to dive into technical details and data flows when necessary.
- Organize and manage complex project information to maintain sprint timelines and delivery momentum.
- Map and understand complex business processes, specifically within Supply Chain Management (SCM) or large-scale ERP environments.
- Design testing strategies and Quality Assurance plans, addressing complex edge cases and moving beyond basic "happy path" testing.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance as a trusted technical advisor, offering constructive feedback and supporting problem-solving for a multi-disciplinary development team.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

Minimum 8 years of progressive IT experience, including software development, system architecture, technical business analysis and team leadership.

Mandatory expertise in Database Architecture and advanced SQL.

Foundational understanding of Software Architecture (previous hands-on software development experience is highly valued).

Expertise in Requirements Definition & Management (both Functional and Non-Functional).

Proven experience leading technical teams, mentoring developers and managing projects using Agile frameworks.

Exceptional verbal and written English skills, capable of effective cross-cultural communication, negotiating requirements and resolving project-related conflicts (able to speak "business" to stakeholders and "code" to developers).

Highly organized, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain momentum in a dynamic environment.

Knowledge of software build and development best practices and tools (e.g., version control, CI/CD pipelines).

Deep domain expertise in Supply Chain Management (SCM), Procurement or complex ERP ecosystems (e.g., Ivalua) is preferred.

Flexible to ensure adequate daily overlap with business stakeholders in the Toronto (EST) timezone, while coordinating with development teams in Europe and Asia.

Physical Demands
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
Typical Experience
8+ years in similar roles spanning software development, architecture and technical delivery management.
Typical Education
Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred).
