Summary

The Signal and Power Integrity (SIPI) Engineer is responsible for ensuring robust signal and power integrity in high-speed digital PCB designs. This role involves early-stage planning, simulation, and analysis of PCB layouts, as well as post-layout troubleshooting. The engineer will collaborate closely with local and global cross-function design teams to identify and resolve SIPI-related issues and contribute to design reviews of critical boards. 

Detailed Description

  • Define PCB stack-up and select appropriate materials to meet electrical performance requirements.
  • Build 3D passive channel models and perform electromagnetic extraction using advanced simulation tools.
  • Conduct signal integrity analysis during both pre-layout and post-layout phases of R&D.
  • Design and analyze multi-gigabit high-speed interfaces such as DDR, PCIe, and Ethernet.
  • Perform power integrity analysis on power delivery networks to ensure stable operation.
  • Generate and validate PCB layout rules; manage design constraints for layout teams.
  • Collaborate with ASIC and PCB design teams to evaluate trade-offs and optimize performance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Work closely with R&D and signal test engineers to debug and resolve issues identified during testing and validation.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing expert insights on SIPI-related risks and improvements.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams across global locations to maintain design consistency and quality.
  • Document simulation and analysis results clearly for communication with design and validation teams.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Experience with Keysight ADS, Power DC/SI and or Synopsys HSPICE for both time and frequency domain circuit simulation.

• Experience with 3-D field solver (ANSYS HFSS, Keysight ADS and or Cadence Clarity).

• Proficiency in Electromagnetic, Transmission-line & S-parameters theory and modeling.

• Good understanding on power distribution, DDR and SerDes design.

• BSEE or related field with 3 years of applicable work experience or MSEE or related field with 1 years of experience.

• Strong written and oral communication in English with customer service skills

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. 
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Typical Experience

  • 2 to 3 years of related experience; Experience in similar job roles

Typical Education

Bachelor/Master degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
