Summary
The Test Engineer, Hardware Design works with cross functional team of designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. Provide support throughout the product sustaining process from Development exit milestone to the EOL/EOS of products.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who likes to take responsibility and works best with little supervision. Likes to perform a variety of tasks and has the ability to handle multiple priorities and has previously performed in a similar position. This is a 'hands-on' role requiring a strong technical background in EE , product testing and manufacturing.
Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Perform Hardware validation tests including but not limited to DVT (Design Validation Test), SPIT (Signal, Power, Integrity & Timing), Thermal, Reliability, Functional, Environmental, EMI/EMC, Burn-In and work with design engineering to resolve issues found during the testing process
- Prepare test plans and execute them for qualifying alternative components and design changes
- Able to create test scripts using Python or other scripting language
- Proficient in using various test and measurement equipment including but not limited to Meters, Oscilloscope, Impedance analyzer, Power meter, Signal analyzer, Spectrum analyzer, Bus analyzers, Thermal Chamber
- Able to do basic soldering
- Able to install software such as Linux based Operating Systems and embedded firmware such as, ONIE, BIOS, BMC, SES, CPLD/FPGA images
- Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
- Update Bill of Material
- Create Test reports and documentation such as PCNs, SOPs
- Flexible to support admin tasks such as Lab. Management, Shipping, Raising PR/PO, Inventory checking (DO/GR)
Physical Demands
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Typical Experience
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience in similar job roles
Typical Education
Bachelor degree in Electronics Engineering
