Summary

Systems & Applications Design is an interdisciplinary field of engineering that works with cross functional teams of other engineers, customers, supply chain and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. 
The Lead Engineer, Systems/Applications designs, integrates, and manages complex systems over their life cycles. They are engineering leads engaged in issues such as requirements engineering, reliability, logistics, coordination of different teams, testing and evaluation, maintainability and many other disciplines necessary for successful system design, development, implementation, and ultimate decommission.  Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Understanding server, storage and/or Ethernet switch basic configuration and architecture.
• Able to fully exercise theories/concept/flow and independently decides and execute course of action.
• Review and interpret customer documentation, conduct appropriate research, analysis and experiments with minimal direction from senior staff.
• Requires no/minimum supervision for daily execution.
• Lead smaller projects and coordinate with other engineers to make the project a success.
• Provides supervision to associate engineer and coaching them on daily tasks, including providing recommendation to problem solving. Ability to lead small task force for simple to medium complexity tasks.
• Understanding technical proposals (solution and timelines) based on requirements and create the system level test plan.
• Test, simulate and measure (including troubleshooting) the performance of systems.
• On the top all the JIRA issues and drive them to closure.
• Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations.
• Solve complex problems.
• Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
• Analyze and interpret data and information.
• Recommend system modifications.
• Create reports and documentation.

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. 
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Typical Experience

• 5 to 10 years of related experience in similar job roles.

Typical Education

Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
