Summary

We are seeking a highly talented customer facing engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Semiconductor process technology. In this role, the engineer will interface with suppliers, customers and PCBA manufacturing to identify necessary technologies for new product development and scalable manufacturing. This role will also work closely with the SCM organization to develop strategic supplier relationships. This role is a corporate level SME.

Detailed Description

  • Engage with product development and manufacturing staff to identify the necessary technologies needed to deploy customer solutions requiring higher levels of performance.
  • Research and implement advanced manufacturing techniques to achieve necessary quality performance and process yields.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for manufacturing issues, drive corrective actions and ensure customer focused quality solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical and process documentation to ensure that advanced technical concepts are understood by the broader organization ▪ Develop appropriate safety protocols by collaborating with process engineering, facility staff, contractors and suppliers
  • Use 3D modeling methods to analyze technical designs and communicate concepts
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in semiconductor and fiber communication and incorporate new technologies into Celestica capital planning and execution

Skills/Experience

Project Management

  • Ability to manage/lead complex, multiple line engineering projects that may also involve other functions
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of the technical, financial and people aspects of the project
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and production, to achieve program objectives.
  • Create a project/change management plans to ensure that the project are delivered within the assigned time and budget
  • Ability to recognize project barriers and develop mitigation plans

Leadership

  • Mentor and lead peer engineering teams to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert, guiding teams in adopting best practices in electronics manufacturing

  • Collaborate across departments to implement robust, cost-effective solutions.
  • Stay updated on emerging industry trends and technologies to enhance process capabilities.

  • Serve as the primary technical interface for internal and external customers, addressing concerns and presenting solutions.
  • Conduct technical reviews, process demonstrations, and progress presentations tailored to customer requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and ongoing business success.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of PLM standards and structure
  • Semiconductor Design Aspects; QFPs, PGAs, BGAs, TIM, PCM)
  • Quality Systems in Manufacturing and Product Development
  • Failure Analysis, Process Yield Improvement
  • 3D Cad Systems

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. 
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Typical Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in electronics design and manufacturing

Typical Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or closely related field, Master’s degree preferred

Location: This is a remote position, with travel as necessary. We are open to considering candidates close to any of our US locations in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Texas, Arizona, Oregon or California as well as locations near major airports such as the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest and Pacific Coast.
