Summary

We are seeking a highly talented customer facing engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facility CAD modeling, pumping and piping systems, capital  equipment specification and project management. The candidate will have their PE license or be on a path to obtain certification. This role will work under the direction of senior engineering staff inside and outside of the company.

Detailed Description

  • Engage with account and site facility teams to develop capital plans for cooling systems and electrical power to meet the capacity needs of various global sites in Celestica.
  • Research capital equipment specs and engage with suppliers to evaluate product offerings against the technical requirements of a project or site.          
  • Conduct safety analysis and research to develop safety plans and procedures     
  • Engage with site teams and local contractors to install systems that meet corporate standards
  • Work on instrumentation and measurement systems to capture Facility Cooling Loop data to be integrated into monitoring systems
  • Compose and update standards and procedures for setup, calibration and operation
  • Develop or maintain P&IDs and 3D models of facility piping systems
  • Collaborate with contractors as needed to develop analysis, customer presentations and 3D simulations of hydraulic piping systems

Skills/Experience

Project Management

  • Ability to manage/lead complex, multiple line engineering projects that may also involve other functions
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of the technical, financial and people aspects of the project
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and production, to achieve program objectives.
  • Create a project/change management plans to ensure that the project are delivered within the assigned time and budget
  • Ability to recognize project barriers and develop mitigation plans

Leadership

  • Mentor and lead peer engineering teams to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert, guiding teams in adopting best practices in electronics manufacturing

  • Collaborate across departments to implement robust, cost-effective solutions.
  • Stay updated on emerging industry trends and technologies to enhance process capabilities.

Customer Interaction/Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary technical interface for internal and external customers, addressing concerns and presenting solutions.
  • Conduct technical reviews, process demonstrations, and progress presentations tailored to customer requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and ongoing business success.

Technical Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cooling system design and implementation, with a focus on soldered cold plate technology and liquid cooling. 
  • Proven experience in a PCBA environment, with a strong understanding of cooling processes and requirements.
  • Familiarity with enclosed and facility-based cooling systems.
  • Experience with one or more current Cooling Distribution Unit (CDU) technologies.
  • Knowledge of L6 through L10 system assembly and L11+ rack design and implementation 

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. 
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Typical Experience

  • 7 to 10 years of related experience;Experience in similar job roles
  • Experience with CAD software and thermal simulation tools

Typical Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
  • Professional certifications; PE, ASHRAED, PEng

Location: This is a remote position, with travel as necessary. We are open to considering candidates close to any of our US locations in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Texas, Arizona, Oregon or California as well as locations near major airports such as the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest and Pacific Coast.
