Detailed Description
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to join our team in Richardson, TX. This role is instrumental in managing the day-to-day and strategic logistics operations to drive operational efficiencies to optimize all inbound and outbound logistics operations for the manufacturing site. The Site Logistics Manager works closely with site inventory, buyers, supply chain, trade compliance, and the corporate supply chain and global logistics / trade teams to implement and drive standardized global processes at the site. Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of global supply chain management, distribution methods, and global transportation services and inventory management.
- Knowledge of import / export, regulatory policies
- Understanding of incoterms and logistics pricing and cost analysis
- Good understanding of IT concepts and integrated business applications.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to resolve complex issues & problems internally and externally
- Significant skills required in multi-tasking and time management
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
- Able to work effectively cross- functionally and with other sites to achieve objectives.
- Good knowledge of an electronics manufacturing environment, material and processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and business systems.
- Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Strong problem-solving skills, capable of addressing high-complexity process/system issues.
- Exceptional multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and adherence to deadlines.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with automated trade compliance systems and tools.
Physical Demands
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties of this position require continuous light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motion, standing, sitting in a confined work space.
Typical Experience
- The ideal candidate will have +10 years experience in logistics management and operations with knowledge in inventory management, freight costing, understanding of global logistics operations, and experience in managing and working directly with third partly logistics service providers.
- Logistics experience in International and regional transportation, warehouse management and understanding of key concepts of trade compliance.
- Working experience and knowledge in electronics manufacturing, supply chain, inventory and order management is an asset.
Typical Education
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience
