Summary
The Senior Specialist, IT Business Analysis, will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business objectives and technology solutions, analyzing processes, and identifying opportunities for operational improvement within our manufacturing and supply chain operations. This role will facilitate requirements gathering sessions with business users to define and document current state business processes, pain points with existing processes and map out the desired to-be state. This facilitation may be held in-person by visiting one of Celestica’s manufacturing facilities or conducted virtually. Business requirements then need to be mapped to technical requirements to help identify one or more potential solutions enabled by technology. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of both business, supply chain, finance and manufacturing processes along with IT solutions.
Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Requirements Gathering: Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to elicit and document the as-is process and map out the desired to be process, and prioritize requirements for process enhancements, technology implementations, and operational changes.
- Process Evaluation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate existing business processes, identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for automation or improvement.
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret manufacturing /operations and supply chain data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
- Solution Design: Translate business requirements into functional and non-functional technical specifications, proposing technological solutions, workflows, and process modifications that align with manufacturing or supply chain objectives.
- Project Coordination: In certain cases, support the implementation of process improvements and technology solutions by coordinating project activities, tracking milestones, and ensuring timely completion. For those small to intermediate projects, follow a structured project lifecycle, including tracking the project scope, schedule, resources, quality, costs and change requests.
- Change Management: In collaboration with, or under the guidance of the Celestica business excellence (organization change management) team, facilitate a smooth transitions during process improvements and technology implementations via effective communication and training to all impacted stakeholders
- Prioritization: Collaborate with business teams to prioritize requirements and demands for small to medium sized initiatives
- Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration between business stakeholders, IT teams, and business subject matter expert personnel to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for ongoing process optimization, suggesting enhancements and innovations to drive operational excellence.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies applicable to Celestica's business (ex. manufacturing ,supply chain, engineering design, finance, sales, HR) and best practices to bring innovative ideas and solutions to the table
- Provide regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Experience in supply chain management processes
- Proficiency in data analysis, utilizing tools such as Excel, SQL, other data visualization software with the ability to interpret and and analyze data to find insights, skills with BI tools to mine data for process improvement
- Familiarity with manufacturing and Supply Chain related software, ERP systems, and process automation tools.
- Excellent communication skills to facilitate and elicit requirements with effective collaboration between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Supply chain experience, knowledge of supplier networks, logistics, procurement and global supply chain to identify bottlenecks and provide solutions
- Problem-solving aptitude with the ability to dissect complex issues and propose practical solutions.
- Project management skills to coordinate and execute process improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies is advantageous.
- Detail-oriented, analytical mindset, and a passion for driving operational efficiency.
- Ability to support IT projects. Defines, documents and carries out small / medium projects
- ($200K, 6 months), actively participating in all phases. Effectively manages projects with 5 to 10 team members.
- Experienced in managing project deliverables of at least 1 third party vendor
- Ability to effectively work within a team environment and or independently
- Understanding of finance, supply chain and manufacturing terms and concepts.
- Organized and able to meet deadlines
Physical Demands
Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
Typical Experience
Proven experience (6 - 8 years) as a Business Analyst, preferably within a manufacturing sector.
Experience in manufacturing and production processes, equipment and technologies.
Project management experience would be considered an asset.
Typical Education
University degree in one of the following: Computer Science, Business Administration, Commerce
