Summary

Provides administrative and analytical support to the Global Rewards Center of Excellence (COE) leadership team for the US Benefits Program. 

Detailed Description

Administer all types of leave programs, including but not limited to:

  • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and equivalent state leaves.
  • Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) plans.
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations and the interactive process. 
  • Personal Leave of Absence and Military Leave. 
  • Coordinate leave benefits with third-party administrators (TPAs), internal payroll/benefits teams as well as site HRBPs. 
  • Manage the accurate and timely process for premium collection for benefits from employees on unpaid leave.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee leave records, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and documentation standards. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave policies, eligibility, rights, and return-to-work process.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to HR partners and managers on complex leave situations and accommodation requests. 
  • Stay current on changes to federal, state, and local laws and regulations concerning leaves of absence, including coordinating with legal counsel when necessary. 
  • Provide education and guidance to employees on all of Celestica's benefit programs. Conduct new hire benefit meetings and send new employees' information on their benefit options and access to their benefits portal. 
  • Support the annual US Benefits Enrollment process. Prepare and deliver communciations, plan changes and timelines to managers and employees. 
  • Additional projects on an as needed basis. 

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • In-dept knowledge of federal and state leave laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, various state laws, and military leave).
  • Proven experience in managing the ADA interactive process and identifying reasonable accommodations. 
  • Strong understanding of benefits administration as it relates to employees on leave, specifically concerning continuation of healthcare coverage and premium payments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and a commitment to maintaining employee privacy and confidentiality. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex policies clearly and empathetically. 

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are generally performed in good working conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Typical Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience managing and administering a comprehensive leave of absence portfolio, including FMLA, STD, LTD, ADA, and state-specific leave programs. 
  • 2-4 years benefits administrative experience  

Typical Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Will consider Associate’s degree or High School diploma with relevant work experience
  • HR or Benefits certifications are a plus but not required

Location: This is a remote position, with travel as necessary. We are open to considering candidates close to any of our US locations in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Texas, Arizona, Oregon or California as well as locations near major airports such as the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest and Pacific Coast.
