Summary
SCM Engineer's key role is to analyze the future business requirements of Celestica CRT , design, and implement both physical and digital processes that enable the business to meets its requirement as an SCM organization.
SCM engineer will align will all stakeholders relevant to the key process stake holders to ensure that the process considers all constraints on the site and that during handover it can be seamlessly adopted by the line organization.
Detailed Description
- Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy for the site
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service teams
- Determine key supply chain KPIs
- Suggest solutions for process improvements
- Identify process bottleneck and implement solutions in a timely manner
- Document step-by-step procedures for the supply planning process
- Work with finance, sales, and manufacturing team to determine best vendors and distributors
- Build and maintain good relationships with vendors
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Ability to plan, analyze, and execute functional warehouse, material flow, & inventory strategy
- Hands on experience in warehousing, operations, customer communication, and planning
- Ability to analyze SCM business requirements, design solution for requirements, implement, and handover self sustaining operations
- Good understanding of IT concepts and integrated business applications
- Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight deadlines.
- Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers. Strong presentation skills.
- Ability to plan in 2D digitally to physical specifications
- ERP System Logic Understanding
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Knowledge
- Basic Statistical Analysis Knowledge applied to Supply Chain
- Ability to maintain external contacts with consultants, association and other companies for benchmarking and networking
- Regular travel will be required (% may vary depending on the account)
- Working knowledge (if pertains) to Free Trade Agreements, HS Tariff, Duty/VAT, ITAR regulations, Sanctions and Embargoes
- Experience in physical material handling & forklift driving is a plus
Physical Demands
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties of this position require continuous light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motion, standing, sitting in a confined work space.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Able to lift & move up to 45 lbs of weight
Typical Experience
5-7+ years of experience
Typical Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Materials Management, Engineering or related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
