Summary:
The Senior Specialist, IT Solutions provides business, process and technical expertise to teams that are responsible for assessing, designing, delivering and supporting IT solutions to clients and customers. The Senior Specialist, IT Solutions will also have the experience and responsibility to ensure that solution team members that are external to IT or even Celestica will also provide quality input and deliverables in a way that meets Celestica's overall goals and requirements, and will need to manage relationships and negotiate and resolve conflict when necessary. The Senior Specialist, IT Solutions will have the knowledge and experience to establish goals and strategies in areas of speciality.

Detailed Description:

  • Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
  • Support and communicate with stakeholders including IT/Business Partners as well as external/internal communities for opportunities and or alignment of solution strategy
  • Support in providing solution architecture as well as guidance in the selected area of responsibility (e.g. Shopfloor, IT, SCM, Ops, etc.)
  • Provide guidance in IT Process (e.g. Operating Model, Governance, System Development Life Cycle)
  • Provide direction and/or guidance in relevant technologies and concepts (e.g. Azure, Cloud Tech, .NET, SAP/ABAP, etc.)
  • Perform technical execution of solutions including requirements gathering, blueprinting, development and deployment
  • Applying expertise in the software prototype development process for coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs, from initial testing to training end-users for applications.  
  • Identifying, improving, and deploying solution support process to stabilize SAP ECC6 deployments including use of SAP Functional including PP, MM, WM, SD, QM and FICO. 
  • Acting as functional lead in the design, development and configuration of SAP ECC6. 
  • Acting as functional SAP testing lead, and SAP technical support in SAP migration from SAP 4.6C to ECC6.  
  • Formulating project plans by defining deliverables and identifying key milestones.
  • Troubleshooting and documenting failure issues and ensuring accurate preparation of failure analysis and test reports according to Celestica’s techniques/processes and document failure mechanisms.
  • Designing, laying out and implementing new manufacturing and test processes.
  • Defining process problems that lead to throughput or quality issues and performing root cause analysis and implementing solutions to stabilize the process and resolve technical problems.
  • Utilizing technical expertise to ensure designs conform with the technical specifications, protocols and procedures utilized by Celestica in its proprietary manufacturing process.
  • Reviewing project progress and engaging in ongoing risk management. Coordinating and directing all the functional groups involved with a pre-defined project in order to meet objectives on content, quality, costs, and schedules.
  • Ensuring team members and customers are provided with timely and accurate project information and status updates.  Resolving project related issues with customers.  
  • Establishing and documenting meetings with customers regarding specific project issues and phases.  Will travel 5% US and/or Int’l to meet w/project team and colleagues
  • Working within a Job shop business model-low volume high mix discrete manufacturing; 
  • Use of SAP Functional including PP, MM, WM, SD, QM and FICO; 
  • Use of SAP Technical including XI/PI, ABAP and Netweaver;
  • Use of M2M (Machine To Machine) for job shop environment; 
  • Utilizing a Supply chain/manufacturing expert system; 
  • Perform Solution & Enterprise architecture activities; 
  • Use of Accounting & Costing principles; and Compliance with SOX, ISO and SEMI.   


Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge & experience in IT process (.e.g operating model, governance, IT delivery lifecycle)
  • Strong knowledge & experience in select business processes (e.g. Shopfloor, IT, SCM, Ops, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge & experience in relevant technologies and concepts (e.g. SAP, xAAS, .NET, Azure, etc.)
  • Ability to make or guide decisions, and drive team actions in accordance with strategy.
  • Good problem solving & analytic skillset, with an ability to innovate.
  • Strong relationship management and negotiations skills.
  • Strong knowledge & experience in Agile and Waterfall development/project methodologies
  • Advanced knowledge of Celestica IT architecture strategies


Physical Demands:
Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Typical Experience:
4 to 6 years.

Bachelor's Degree
