Summary
Provides direct and indirect supervision to subordinate managers and employees performing highly specialized roles in several major functions or divisions/departments. This includes long-term planning, objective setting, policy formation, interpretation and management while providing latitude and discretion to subordinates. Accountable for projects or programs on a global basis. Has overall P&L responsibility for business unit operations or operational accountability for global business units. Work requires investigating and resolving a wide variety of highly unusual conditions that carry long-term implications. Requires developing new strategies, policies, practices, methods, programs or techniques and utilizing them to analyze and interpret difficult problems or situations and/or establishing new strategic direction that is corporate wide. Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Has overall responsibility for planning, budgeting, implementing and maintaining costs, methods and employees in a functional area. Makes final decisions on administrative and operational matters in area of responsibility to ensure achievement of objectives. Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of business unit operations. Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area through several department managers. Assigns objectives, reviews performance and approves employee compensation, coaches for improved performance. Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions normally involve controversial situations, customer and supplier negotiations, or influencing and persuading other senior level managers. May represent the organization in public speaking venues and/or community events.
Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Directs all of the engineering activities for Corporate Real Estate.
- Defines the vision and develops the annual business plan.
- Develops short- and long-term goals and identifies target customers.
- Identifies organizations strengths as well as those of the competitors.
- Directs the provision of engineering design services from customer requirements through to building completion.
- Interfaces with government officials, suppliers and design consultants.
- Communicates regularly with internal customers to provide information, escalate issues and create and enhance a positive working relationship.
- Delivers presentations and communicates capabilities to potential customers.
- Works with sites to help define their needs and to present technical proposals to meet those needs.
- Ensures proposals meet requirements for manufacturability, cost effectiveness, companys image, etc.
- Interfaces with other sites globally to develop complementary services and coordinate capabilities worldwide.
- Ensures compliance to ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standard.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Engineering Foundation Competencies
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the business unit and how decisions impact customer satisfaction, product quality, on-time delivery and the profitability of the unit.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of engineering design and development, in a highly dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Broad knowledge of real estate, construction and development industry.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills.
- Ability to establish business unit goals and coordinate a wide variety of resources to meet quality and quantity metrics.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
- Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees to meet high levels of technical requirements within tight time deadlines.
- Knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations, programs and issues, including ISO14001 requirements.
Physical Demands
- Incumbent will perform the duties of this position in a normal office environment.
- Global travel a requirement.
Salary
Salary Range: $162,577-$ 254,075Annually
The salary range described in this posting is an estimate by the Company, and may change based on several factors, including by not limited to a change in the duties covered by the job posting, or the credentials, experience or geographic jurisdiction of the successful candidate.
The stated range includes Base Salary and target Short-Term Incentive (STI) compensation only. A comprehensive benefits package is offered in addition to this range.
