Accountant

Summary

Accounting Analyst will work closely with the Financial Shared Services and Site Finance, Site Management team to develop, implement and enforce effective financial processes. These responsibilities also include performing period end closing and reporting, financial systems and process operations and advisory on the financial process to other operational departments.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Perform monthly and quarterly closing activities, accrual accounting, prepare and post accounting journals
• Preparation of supporting schedules for period end closing
• Prepare corporate and statutory Compliance reporting.
• Balance sheet account reconciliations
• Responsible to liaise with external auditors, drafting and completing the Financial Statutory Audited Report
• Prepare quarterly tax package, annual tax return and indirect taxes.
• Prepare quarterly transfer pricing true up.
• Responsible to liaise with MIDA on any matters related to tax incentives.
• Handling documentations on secretarial matters.
• Assist in problem solving and advice on accounting and business processes.
• Handle fixed asset reporting roll up, ROI analysis, depreciation forecast and assets count.
• Handling ad-hoc matters/projects as assigned 

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Degree holder in Accounting / Finance. ACCA certified is a plus. 
• Preferably at least 4 years of working experience in accounting and tax.
• Malaysian Corporate Tax, Indirect Tax, MFRS, and US GAAP compliance proficiency
• Balance sheet and P&L analytical skills
• GL Accounting proficiency in the SAP financial system
• Microsoft Office, Excel, and Power Query proficiency
• English written and verbal proficiency

Typical Experience

• Four to six years’ experience in a relevant position.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Enrollment at an intermediate level of an accounting designation may be required
