Summary
The Lead Engineer, Hardware Design works with cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product sustenance from development exit to prodocut EOL. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations.
The Lead Engineer, Hardware Design (Electrical) develops new electrical systems/circuits for various applications. Research system ideas and draw up plans for these systems, and capture them in schematics and system specifications. Test, simulate, validate and qualify their systems and make adjustments as needed
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who likes to take responsibility and works best with little supervision. Likes to perform a variety of tasks and have the ability to handle multiple priorities and has previously performed in a similar position. This is a 'hands-on' role requiring a strong technical background in EE and product development and manufacturing experience.
Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Creation of Schematics, Bills of material, diagrams, drawings, etc.
- Creating technical reports and documentation
- Identify technical issues, troubleshoot and resolve them by coordinating with R&D, Manufacturing and Field teams
- Participate in customer technical meetings and prepare training programs
- Hardware validation of Networking, Storage, Server products against customer’s infield issues, requirements and Mfg. issues during NPI or RMA
- System validation including DVT (Design Validation Testing), SPIT (Signal, Power, Integrity & Timing) testing
- Qualify alternative components for compatibility, cost effectiveness and benchmarking
- Support Manufacturing Engineering and Test Engineers on trouble shooting and resolving technical issues and root cause analysis
- Work with software teams to identify root cause of system failure
- Ability to install software such as Linux Operating System, ONIE, BIOS, BMC, SES, SONiC
- Proficient in using various test and measurement equipment including but not limited to Oscilloscope, Impedance analyzer, Power meter, Signal analyzer, Spectrum analyzer, Bus analyzer, Temperature Chamber
- Previous experience is working on network switch, storage and compute products development

- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Typical Experience

Atleast 10 years of related experience in similar roles and technology areas
Typical Education
- Bachelor degree in electrical engineering is required. Master degree is preferred.
