Summary

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Bachelor or Master in Science/Engineering (Optical, Physics, Laser, etc.) or experience in closely related technologies.
  • More than five years of experience in optical design, validation and testing; Prefer candidates with experience with network switches and testing network switches
  • Knowledge and experience with coherent optics and line systems preferred
  • Knowledge of key optical components including laser sources, DSPs, CDRs, TIAs, EDFA, ROADM,MUX/DEMUX etc.
  • Experience designing and building optical test stations and experience with DCAs, CDRs, OSAs, optical switches, VOAs, MUX/DEMUX, power meters, etc.
  • Experience in electrical and optical hardware debugging. Knowledge of potential failure modes for optical components.
  • Experience both in manufacturing and NPI design
  • Good communication skills in English

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. 
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Typical Experience

  • 7 to 10 years of related experience;Experience in similar job roles

Typical Education

Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
