Summary

Resourceful, independent, multi-tasking, self-starter who wants to work in a high paced,  fast learning environment as part of the Celestica Design Services Center verification team; to develop and execute data test solutions related to communication platforms.

Successful candidate will have solid knowledge of test and troubleshooting methodologies and the development/testing lifecycle; and have a desire for achieving excellence in product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

This position also requires communication skill (verbal and written in English) and interpersonal skills.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Design, develop and implement technical solutions in two or more technical areas. Lead smaller projects and may coordinate with other engineers including reviews of their work.
• Review and interpret customer documentation, conduct appropriate research, analysis and experiments with minimal direction from senior staff.
• Creates technical proposals (solution and timelines) based on requirements.
• Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs. e.g. creation of Schematics, Bills of material, diagrams, drawings, etc.
• Testing, simulation and measuring (including troubleshooting) the performance of systems
• Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations
• Solve complex problems
• Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
• Analyze and interpret data and information
• Recommend modifications for systems
• Create reports and documentation

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

•    Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
• Excellent understanding test methodologies and the ability to interpret / enhance to fit unique test situations.
• Solid understanding of the OSI model; must have advanced, practical knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3.
• Ability to derive test plans, test cases, and test environments from requirements,system architecture, and functional specification documents.
• Must have hands-on experience in configuring switches and routers; and experience in switch and router feature testing with traffic generators.
• Demonstrated ability to apply methodical troubleshooting techniques in complex systems environments with dynamically changing network topologies; perform root cause analysis of issues;  create problems reports and manage them to resolution.；
• Familiar with test tracking and defect management tools.
• Desirable to have UNIX / Linux experience; programming in C; scripting with Shell,Perl / CGI, Expect; automation development experience; Spirent / IXIA traffic generators; LAN protocols, QoS, and SNMP.
• Ability to work and interact as part of a multi-national / multi-time zone team with members and customers in China and the Americas.
• Ability to lead / mentor junior team members.
• Excellent verbal and written English skills.

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional travel may be required.
