Summary

The Consultant will analyze current systems, identify inefficiencies, and implement effective solutions to optimize inventory control. Develop change management strategies for both technical and people driven solutions.  Coach and mentor others to enable sustained performance on strategic activities.  Analyze inventory data and collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast inventory and track risks. Set quarterly improvement targets aligned with corporate goals, track and review results. Report on performance against forecasts, provide insights and deploy recommendations.

 

Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires and in-depth evaluation of various factors. Incumbents are accountable for quality of work delivered by all contributors. Incumbents have decision-making authority and autonomy to deliver on goals of team. Influences others outside of team to ensure goals are met and resolve conflicts in an effective manner. Will lead a multi-functional work group or project and will provide advice and guidance in area of specialty as required. May determine new methods and procedures. Interfaces with senior managers on issues related to the area of expertise. Interacts with and influences management and/or customers on significant issues.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Assess and analyze existing inventory management, demand management, parameters, purchasing, E&O etc. processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Partners with Site SCM to develop and implement process improvement strategies to optimize inventory levels and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and best practices.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of inventory processes and improvements.
  • Analyze global inventory data and collaborate with cross functional teams to forecast inventory levels; track risks and opportunities and ensure outlooks are adjusted as required. 
  • Deploy inventory forecasting best practices across the network to improve accuracy and sustain improvements.
  • Responsible for setting, communicating and driving quarterly inventory improvement targets to enable corporate goals; ensure closed loop review of results.
  • Reports on inventory performance against forecast and targets; provide insights and recommendations to management.
  • Champion corporate inventory policies; recommend adjustments as required

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to communicate complex data insights in a straightforward manner
  • Proven experience in inventory management or oversight within a corporate environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and process improvement approach.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new methodologies.
  • Ability to effectively lead and coordinate projects with stakeholders at all levels, fostering collaboration and achieving common goals.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Overnight travel may be required.

Typical Experience

  • Eight plus years of relevant experience.

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
