Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Talent & Performance, the Senior Manager, Talent & Organizational Development a key member of the Human Resources Centre of Excellence (COE) at Celestica.  The successful candidate will focus on the design and implementation of strategic HR practices and talent development programs in support of Celestica’s global talent strategy and company’s strategic business objectives. This involves developing and leading initiatives/projects, programs and processes aimed at strengthening the performance, development, and experience or employees and leaders globally.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Talent & Performance, the Senior Manager, Global Talent Development a key member of the Human Resources Centre of Excellence (COE) at Celestica.  The successful candidate will focus on the design and implementation of strategic HR practices and talent development programs in support of Celestica’s global talent strategy and company’s strategic business objectives. This involves developing and leading initiatives/projects, programs and processes aimed at strengthening the performance, development, and experience or employees and leaders globally.

This is a contract position for 18-20 months, with the opportunity to gain meaningful professional growth and extensive opportunities to build strong partnerships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders/client groups across our global organization. It provides a chance to demonstrate ingenuity and leadership influence, and deploy initiatives that have a positive impact on performance, employee development and engagement and on the business.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • This role is accountable for working collaboratively with the Sr. Director, Global Talent & Performance, the broader COE and the Human Resources community on key initiatives including the following responsibilities:

  • Implement Celestica’s enhanced competency framework, including leading project deliverables and supporting business in the development of competency libraries for select functions
  • Support Sr. Director, Global Talent & Performance with Celestica’s annual talent review and succession practice in an effort to continually enhance talent bench strength and leadership capability, drive diversity and support meaningful career growth
  • Organize Celestica’s annual global speaking event, including speaker selection and preparation of custom content, and session logistics
  • Manage and enhance Celestica’s mentoring and top talent development programs, including Women in Action 4.0
  • Develop, socialize and implement Leadership Assessment tools, aligned with Celestica’s leadership framework and development strategy
  • Support the roll out the company’s evolved performance management practice, including training/education for global client groups, key enhancements and change management strategies to foster a continuous feedback and coaching culture
  • Consult on design of innovative learning and development solutions in collaboration with the Sr. Manager, Learning & Performance
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and business leaders to gather input on talent practices and programs for continuous improvement purposes, socialize new programs, identify talent gaps and requirements to strengthen performance and enable business goals, define project goals and resource requirements and ensure effective change leadership
  • Collaborate with Celestica’s HR Information Systems team to ensure the appropriate business requirements are considered in system configuration
  • Collaborate with Celestica's Branding & Communications team to develop communications plans, and collateral to support rollout of global talent program
  • Provide leadership and influence within the business and HR to Project manage all aspects and programs within talent portfolio
  • Measure and report on program and practice effectiveness, provide insights to business strategies and strive for continuous improvement

Typical Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources Management, Organizational Development or related field
  • CHRP or CSTD designation, or Instructional Design certification an asset
  • Five to ten years’ experience in HR, with at least five years specifically focussed in talent management, organizational development or learning and development
  • Effective consultation skills to identify talent needs, develop solutions and ability to influence various stakeholders to engage in COE core practices/programs
  • Experience in competency development projects and instructional design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid facilitation and presentation/public speaking experience
  • Project management experience in talent / L&D development initiatives
  • Experience in implementing change initiatives and optimizing adoption
  • Adept at translating business requirements into relevant talent solutions, actions and recommendations
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with an aptitude to think holistically and outside of the box
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, fast-paced global environment
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with all levels and networks across diverse cultures
  • Two-three years experience with talent metrics reporting
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google applications
  • Growth mindset with an openness to new ideas and challenging the status quo
  • Flexibility to attend occasional conference calls/meetings outside of
  • Regular business hours during peak implementation periods

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
